Little help from the MAC guys....

I see that Buff opened up as a 1 pt fav over Ohio, but now, despite a vast majority of the tickets being bet on Buffalo (anywhere from 80%-90%), the line has actually gone the other direction and now Ohio is favored by 2 or even 2' in places....

What the deal? Is there that much "sharp" money pouring in on Ohio this early in the week or is this just a weird discrepancy based on the small sample size because it is so early in the week???

Thoughts???

I'll chime in with an added disclaimer added that I have had my poorest college football season in many, many years so take my thoughts with a grain of salt

I'd go with your latter thought. I seriously doubt that people have been rushing to the windows to pound a mid week MAC game. I really suspect the game line could end up close to a pick by time it kicks.

Just as an observer who sees quite a bit of MAC sports, I am willing to overlook OU's loss at Miami. Miami is not a horrible team and Buffalo was fully extended to beat them at home. Ohio has got their running game in gear and is a pretty tough out at Athens. I like the Kitties a little bit in this spot but not to the extent that I'm willing to pound the hell out of this game.

Both Spackler and BG Falcon are both better MAC football 'cappers than myself so I'd watch for their takes on this game.

Best of luck

Thanks for the input....

Similar situation with Toledo.... Very high % of tickets are on the Rockets, but the line has dropped from an opening line of -14' to -13, which is a movement in the wrong direction?!?!?!

Any other thoughts on these two weeknight MAC games???

Thanks in advance, fellas. :0003

I just heard on XM radio on the VSiN channel that there have been several sharp players making plays at the Westgate and a few other shops on the strip on Ohio tonight, which would explain the odd line movement on this game this week....

It sounds like this game is going to be one of those Pro's vs Joe's type of games with a majority of the tickets on Buffalo and a majority of the money on Ohio.

Just thought I'd pass along what I heard.... I'm probably going to pass on the game.

Good luck out there, fellas!

I guess I should have rode with the sharps tonight....

Sometimes figuring out which side the sharps are on isn't rocket science or inside knowledge.... They aren't always right either, but they seem to be right more often than they are wrong. :0003

You're welcome.

Good luck this weekend, fellas!
