Little league draft order problem...need help, maybe from Fantasy players

We have our draft tonight. There are 11 kids to be chosen for each of the 8 teams.

The draft....a person gets the first pick in the first rd he then gets the last pick in 2nd rd and first pk in the third rd and the last pick in the 4th rd....and so on.

This snake method is pretty standard in fantasy drafts.

The problem...The guy with the first pick would also get the first pick in the last rd when in fact he should get the last pick of the draft.

Any solutions???

for the last round,

just make it random

put all owner names in a hat and pick

first one picked gets 1st pick of last round etc.

if you want to make it really crazy

do it like the nba lottery

the guy who had the original first pick gets 1 entry and the guy who had the 8th pick originally gets 8 names in the hat

then just pick from the hat

if your name has been picked already just pick another

i have done this before and it works and it is fair

RRC, just found out the specifics on how NWLL does their draft. At tryouts, all coaches assign a score to all kids trying out. They average out those scores, and auction in order from highest to lowest. Every team is given points to bid on players. The team with the most returning players receives the lowest number of points with which to bid, and the team with the least returning players gets the highest number of points. Sounds like a cool alternative.
