Chit this is a decent one you got started YYZ. Why did everyone stop. We work on this baby hard enough we could get it locked up. Eddie I am getting older and some what more conservative. But never do i fall into any trap. Independent I am and shall stay. Just to many crooks in both those other folks. And yes the R's may have the most. YYZ back to your orginal subject. To bad the store clerk did not just by some accedent do better job on that thief. I to want better things for everyone. But found out long time ago. Well we just have many that don't give a shit never will. We could hand some of them money upfront. They would piss it away real soon. Then try to steal some more. Slow lerners. Na just never wanted it any other way. But no matter we just have to all keep trying. But don't screw with SS, Im almost ready to start drawing. And yes some place it does say the meek will end up kings. But it said nothing about thiefs. ;)
See my computer can't spell for chit again.

Thanks Eddie Well thought and written. The only flaw I can see is your whole premise is behind the spin that republicans are these rich corporate owners. You might want to take a look at the colored demographic map of the last election.(if someone knows the link would appreciate it posted). They include most people in America that WORK for their checks, feed America and the veterans that fought for America. Now,I am not a registered Republican and have voted both ways. I like neither the far left or right. I agree with the dems entirely on environment issues, however I against supporting deadbeats that can work and won't.I am against tax rebates for those that pay no taxes.I believe what a person does in their home is their business but when they take it to the street it becomes a public issue.Don't burn your community and expect me to pay to build it back. I don't trust politicians, corp execs, and tv preachers or special interest groups in general.I think a presidents character should be without reproach with basic attributes of honesty, courage and moral values.

Now getting back to my original question you seemed to dodge.
Which side would flourish and which would flounder. It's a no brainer.
In being a straight, wasp, veteran, raised on a farm, building a business from scratch I can not find one reason I would want to cross the border to the left but would be willing to pay more taxes to shore up the border patrol to keep the left from crossing right;)

Dogs, djv and y,

Look, although you may spill your coffee when you read this, I'm not some bleeding heart liberal who throws 5 bucks into every panhandlers cup on the street corner. I am a fiscal conservative that does not like throwing tax dollars at lazy bums who cannot work because they choose not to work. Nor for that matter do I like paying for $150.00 toileet seats for the military.

I'm not dodging your question. I dont think either side would flourish, long term. If you put the haves on one side as the Germans did, it will eventually fail because they need others to do the jobs they don't want to do. Again I'm not trying to be obtuse but, its difficult to respond to a hypothetical like yours. With your background I can understand your views.

My major point is that the genereal conservative response to the poor is "pick yourself up by your bootstraps". My point, without education, cant be done. Let me leave you with this thought, do you think Colin Powell and Allen Iverson grew up in the same neighborhood. If we can get the Iversons of the world to be more like the Powells of the world, then and only then do I think we will have the answer to this long-time problem.

Very valid point Eddie. Now if we can just find a common denominator that would make everyone want to commit to an education.
P.S. I fail to see any correlation between Germany and the US.

Dogs:

Your right man. It's a real dilema. In this hillbilly town I live in, our Republican dominated local government passed the largest tax ever to build two new stadiums for their republican buddies, Carl Lindner and Mike Brown, owners of our professional franchises, masquerading as professional franchises.

Our schools are falling apart yet good old Hamilton County needed to tear down Riverfront Stadium (Cinergy) which was 30 years old to build Messers Lindner and Brown two new staiums in order to make them richer. Makes perfect sense to me.

I don't want to get local but this is an example of Republican tax spending. I know the argument that the new stadii (?) bring in $, but I don't buy it for a second. Just makes the rich richer. How do we break the cycle of poverty. Hell, if I knew I wouldnt be writing on this board.

By the way the county commisioner who supported the $1,000,000.00 tax hike (yes one billion) lost in the subsequent election. But true to form was hired by Mike Brown and the Bengals as a "consultant". Blatant political bought and sold yet no raised an eyebrown in this corrupt town.

Since its coming up on 13 years since I began posting here, I went back in the archives to see my first post. I couldn't post on it since Jack had closed it (what a shock). It was about Andrea Yates killing her kids. I took the position that she shouldn't be given the death penalty as our society shouldn't execute the insane.

My views didn't go over to well (again another shocker). Anyway it was fun to go back in time for a bit when I was a practicing lawyer, living in a nice house in the burbs in Cincinnati and life was totally different than it is now. Just sayin.
