Like tonight's umpire, Philly's new home field is fairly uninspiring in terms of stats so far this season. Batters are hitting .252, which is 13th in the Majors. Runs per game are also around the middle of the pack at 9.67.
However, balls do seem to be flying out of the park. In 21 games, 61 homers have been cranked in Philly. That's sixth overall. Bobby Abreu (11 HRs), Jim Thome (11 HRs) and Pat Burrell (9 HRs) are wielding the big bats for the Phillies.
It's still too early to tell whether Citizens Bank will be a hitters' park or a pitchers' park. However, the current homerun trend suggests that the new venue might be a little more hitter friendly than old Veteran's Stadium
