Been a while since I've posted on Madjacks since college basketball season is over and college football is still months away, but I am playing the Lakers/Kings game tonight:

The value for game 5 is with the Kings. . . laying only two at home due largely to the fact that the public completely overvalues the Lakers as the defending champs with Kobe, Shaq, etc. Vegas obviously brought this line down as everyone and their dog would jump on the Lakers if the line was at 4 or 5 as the real line should be for this game. Perhaps the Lakers will win this game, but the right side is most definitely the Kings.

I disagree Nickel....

This line is begging for people to take the Kings and I cant see the value at 5! I still have heard no explanations as to why the series line is -180 for the lakers and why this line is at -2. I would love someone with more knowledge than me to explain that. I gotta think Vegas knows what it is doing and the series line at -180 is a puzzle. With that line alone, the VALUE play to me is the Lakers catching points! If we are ATS people, Lake have won 12-13 on the road last 13playoff games. Isnt this value catching +2?

I do think its strange that the series line is favoring the Lakers given the fact that Sacramento will be favored for two of the final three games. However, this was also the same for the Yankees/DBacks World Series with the Yankees somehow being the favorite even though the DBacks were the obvious favorite two out of the final three games.

I suppose the only comparison that can be made between the Lakers and the Yankees is the fact that both were/are World Champs and this probably carries weight with Vegas when setting series lines. . . just not sure what else to say except I do stand by my statements above no matter the outcome of tonight's game.
