Was wondering if anyone in MJ land can help me on my daughters trip to London.
She and her boyfriend bought tickets to London on a Southwest airline promo.
They arrive on June 1st and leave June 11th.All they have are their passports and tickets.
They have no idea where there staying. They went to london.hotels and a few other places like travelocity, etc.
There looking for economy hotel thats decent. They don't need AC,etc. They don't want a hostel but a small hotel pretty centrally located. They heard the Nottinghill gate area and Bloomberg area is pretty nice and cheap.
Also they would stay at a university or college in London but there not sure which ones rent dorm rooms.
I looked up a few economy hotels on the net and found..Copothrone Tara at 75 pounds a nite. For 6 nites its 530 pounds .Its 622 after taxes.
I don't even know what a pound is to our dollar.
If there is anyone that has some info on London I would apprecaite it.
She finished her masters at U.Texas.She and her boyfriend are celebrating.
.
Also they are planning to go to Paris for 2 nites.
I know there are some of you out there that are travelers and maybe know something about London.
I just got back from Disney with our senior class.Spent 5 days down there.Sometimes in education we get tough assignments[ lol.]We had 100 kids and not one single problem. We met 250 seniors from Cookville,Tenn.Another big group from Oak Grove,Ala and another group from Texas.
It was great to sit with teachers and adminstrators from other schools by the pool discussing todays youth. It was great to see kids from upstate NY meet kids from Tenn,Bama and Texas. Our kids got to meet these kids and became friends for the next few days.
Even in Epcot and MGM they hung out with each other.
I know the headlines and news is always about HS students that bought a gun to school or had a death list, etc.
But watching these kids from all over the US playing "marco polo" or "chicken" in the pool and then hanging out in a Disney park was heart warming.Made me proud to see these kids. Our youth isn't as bad as many would think.I know our kids are e-mailing many of them.
On the plane ride home to NY a few of my kids did say"they sure do talk funny though".I agreed.
But I'm sure someone from Tenn,Bama or Texas said the same thing about our NY accent...
We do live in the best country in the world and have the best kids......
