The thing that struck me most on this story was not the fact how stupid and naive this idiot was--but the fact he's been writing articles for major news outlet (NYT) on "economics" that probably millions of people have read over course of time with presumption he had a clue.

Classic case of "Do as I say, not as I do"

Man could have a brilliant economic mind in abstract, but no ability to apply that to his personal life. Human-nature really.

What I took away with it is: Don't get divorced... don't have kids... hell, don't get married!
