As I moved through this game I attempted to find an edge for the eagles lets take a look.

QB:rating
McNabb- 79.6
Farve- 90.4

Percent complete
McNabb: 57.5
Farve: 65.4

Interceptions:
McNabb: 11
Farve: 21

Farve in my humble opinion is a more complete qb than McNabb. Only question will Brett get goofy with those ints? I look for the usual 2 from him...
Advantage: Pack.

Running Backs: Okay everyone knows Westbook is out, but how big of an impact will his abscense be? That is the question?

Philly: Buckhalter: 4.3 ypc. 8 touchdowns.
Staley: 4.8 ypc. 5 touchdowns.
Westbrook: 5.2 ypc. 7 toucdowns.

Pack: Green: 5.3 ypc. 15 touchdowns!!!

Okay guys I gotta give the edge again to the pack on the running attack.

Recieviers:
Philly: Triple threat recievers in Pinskston, Thrash and Mitchell, keep an eye out on Staley, but I think he will be regulated to the full time running back position. The philly recieving crew averages 11.7 yards per catch. Team total on touchdowns 17.

Pack: Oh Boy, you guys will love this, Walker, Driver, Ferguson, And green average 10.9 yards per reception and a total of 32 touchdowns. I believe one of my fellow handicappers mentioned a weak Philly secondary...

Edge: Pack.

Field goals:
Akers 82%
Longwell 88%

Edge: Pack.

Punts:
Eagles:Average 40.6 net 34.6. Inside the 20, 27 of the 79 punts.
Pack: Average 41.3 net 34.6 Inside the 20, 17 of the 71 punts.

Edge: Philly.

Kickoff Returns:
Philly: Average 21.3 yards.
Pack: Aveage 10.5 yards.

Edge: Philly.

Punt Returns:
Philly: Average 12.2 yards, with 2 for touchdowns.
Pack: Average of 7.9 yards. O touchdowns.
Edge: Philly

Defense: Nothing really stands out as far as tackles, solos, sacks or fumble recoveries. The one stat that does stand out in the assisits. Eagles: 104.
Pack: 151 ( more opportunities, or more of a swarming defense?
Edge: Even?

Interceptions:
Philly: 13
Pack: 21
Edge: Pack.

Offensive Key Stats:
First Downs: Philly 302 Pack 315
3rd down Conv: Philly 69 Pack 85
Yds per off play: Philly 5.3 Pack 5.8
Rushing Plays: Philly 417 Pack 507
Yds per Rush: Philly 5.73 Pack 5.0
Sacks: Philly 38 Pack 34
TDS: Philly 40 Pack 50
Rushing Philly 23 Pack 18 ( Westbrook 7 rush 4 pass)
Passing Philly 40 Pack 50
FGS: Philly 24 Pack 23.
Edge: Pack.

Defensive Key Stats:
First Downs: Philly 308 Pack 288
3rd down Conv: Philly 78 Pack 85
Yds per play: Philly 5.0 Pack 4.9
Sacks: Philly 43 Pack 19 ( ouch )
FGs: Philly 22 Pack 30 ( humm)
Touchdowns:
Rushing: Philly 13 Pack 10 (better)
Passing Philly 17 Pack 18

Edge: Eagles? sacks and FGs .

In conclusion, the weakness for the Pack seems to be in their special teams play on punt and kickoff returns resulting in poor field position. Will the pack be able to run on the eagles? Yes. Will they be able to pass on the Philly defense? Yes.
I believe westbrook out of the offensive scheme will truely hurt this philly offense. I wish my thoughts or numbers supported Philly with the week off, hometown, and the history of the playoff on their side, but I still lean more to the Pack.
Final Score:
Pack: 23
Eagles: 20

Comments and observations are appreciated.

Dude that was some heavy duty homework gathering all those stats for this game. GOOD JOB

I'm trying to figure out what was left out.

And there is an X factor I did not see which is the bottom line.
The Eagles Def gives up a ton of yards and they don't seem too concerned, because there D is only allowing 17 to 20 pts a game all year. The game earlier in GB they gave Green 192 yrds and most of those yrds came on 2 big plays and he scored there only 2tds and Farve was a none factor, however it was McNabb who won the game when it was crunch time. Everyone I speak to in Philly is so affraid of this game and Farve's Magic as the X factor.

With all of there injuries on DEF the Eagles DBs are all healthy and it will be harder for GB this time with Vincent, Dawkins, Taylor, and Lewis who are all pro backs compared to McKeinzie, Harris, Sharper and Anderson.
To compare those Defenses I would give a big edge to Philly.
McNabb will expose the Fraud GB D

Good info
good luck

GL on the pack HR. But philly having a weak secondary:nono: Dawkins, Vincent and Taylor are legit and will most definitely be a factor in this game when Favre airs one or two, too many out. Favre is on a mission late in the season it seems but see this as his final week for the season. GL on your play however.

Oh great. So now the Eagles have a weak secondary to go with that weak run defence. So how did they manage to give up the 3rd-fewest points in the NFC this year??

:iagree: Exactly. A defense that allows as minimal points per game as the eagles cannot be stipulated as having a bad D.

the eagles pass rush will definetly force farve into at least 2 or more interseptions...philly will win it on special teams play as well as key turnovers.

philly 23-17

Guys thanks for the feedback, will help me look more closely at the defense for the Eagles. Am trying to cut an paste may analysis for the other 3 , hopefully will get the same type of feedback.
Holt for the Rams just scares me against the Carolina Defense.

Good Luck this weekend.

How long before Favre is emotionally drained? He doesn't play well on the road in the playoffs, at least the last few years anyway. He can't run on emotion for his father forever.

another thing to consider is that although the Packers have looked good since the destiny talk began...remember that they beat a bad Raiders team, played a Denver team that layed down for them, and had a close home game against a Seattle team that is not on the same level as Philly.
