why on earth is anyone ragging on carpenter. He pitched a great game today. He went 8 innings allowing 4 hits and 2 runs and 10 ks. How is that a bad outing? He pitched at his exact era for the season.

Blame the cardinal bats for not getting any hits. Carpenter is having a great season and had another great game today. You can't expect pitchers to pitch shoutouts. 2 runs through 8 is great for any pitcher.
