Skoda!

That exacta streak I wrote about in my last thread ended at 4 in a row. Betting with peanuts is safe and the prices at Philly warrant to bet that way, BUT I sure wish I had at least 5 bucks on any one of those. Yeah, "it is what it is".

Been doing terrible since my last post; don't want to even think of how many races I THOUGHT I had won in deep stretch only to get one nipped at the wire. Time after time. And one time when I did get LUCKY - I hit a $100+ exacta (yeah, ONE stinkin dollar's worth) go to MY results after the race and find that I made a typo with one of the nos. when I entered the bet. How bout this one - on one of the days Philly cancelled, I turned on TVG on the TV just to see if Philly was running and they had Oaklawn on. I just thought I'd watch, ONLY . I did "watch, only" a couple of races and saw 2 L@@KERS in the third race they televised and I figured I'd watch at Oaklawn. Two horses that really caught my eye in the post parade were in that race. Both were double digit odds and I decided to box those two just for kicks and then shut the TV off. I hit the computer and they were loading the last horse in the gate. I put the exacta 2-horse box in, hit enter, and get the "too late" thingy. You know the rest of this and I can't tellya what the exacta paid cause I shut the dang TV off without seeing what MY exacta paid. I don't want to know what it paid.

As I'm writing this - I'm seeing the replay of today's 1st wace at Philly. Racing at Philly is getting like playing college hoops! You can study, handicap till ya BLUE in the face or until the cows come home.. NO WAY are you gonna figure which team is gonna sink that LAST basket of the game to cover at the final buzzer or which horse is gonna nip the figure horse at the wire in the last couple of strides. NO WAY. Just :00011 and take your chances. And that ain't for me.

I may go on hoss wacin vacation if today is another losing day. Vacation is usually a min. of one month for me and then I'll see got back to the way it used to work.

First playable race today is the 3rd.

Nos. 4 and 7 are keys with 3 long shots. the three are the 1,5,7. Those long shots are early speed in this 5 1/2 race and I like my chances that one will hold on it's lead.

Edited: my tickets are 4,7 top/bot 1,2,5

Results

Considering that the no. 1 got bet down from 8/1 M.L. to 7/2, the 4-1 zack payoff was pretty good on a $2 ticket which is what I had on this short field, $36,60. I also had a side bet on no. 5 for 2 stinkin dollars.

Another typo in what I wrote

Another typo in what I wrote

The longshot speedsters were the 1,2,5 not 1,5,7; didn't matter cause the tickets and the results ($) are correct. One post and one mild winnah. Good thing.

I had to catch up and also lost my internet connection due to weather today; so, I stopped posting but did get back online to play 3 other races.

Bottom line was another small exacta hit and wound up a small loss for the day. I'm starting to understand why all the hoss players left, maybe I shoulda did the same :( . I gotta close the door on good ole Philly for a month or so OR see if my handicapping ways start to work again ON PAPER for awhile. Problem is that this track isn't playing like it used to.

G.L. Skoda if you do hold up this place.

Thanks, Kicker

Thanks, Kicker

Yeah, Raffa's on a bit of a downslope these days. He's still a pretty solid contender even at 80%.

Something funny, Kick... A LONG, LONG time ago I posted something nasty about a player that I thought had nuthin going for him. And YOU criticized me with something like," How the hell can you write what you wrote about a new player with so much potential?".

Well, it sure took a damn LONG time for him to show it, Kick. But, he/you FINALLY proved me wrong.... I'm getting to really like and root for DelPotro.

You can stick with your robot buddy, Raoinc. I can't forget what he said in an interview on TV when he first hit the tennis courts.. " .... the objective is to be the greatest, No. 1, tennis player in the world!". Yeah, :jerkit:

OK, back to hoss wacin:
