EVEN THOUGH WE R STRONG AT LINEBACKER, THIS WILL BE A MAJOR BLOW........LIKE BALT LOSING LEWIS LAST YR!

IT'S HARD TO REPLACE A GUY WHO I THINK MIGHT BE THE BEST IF NOT IN THE TOP 2 LINEBACKERS IN FOOTBALL. IT WAS A SAD DAY WITH THIS NEWS:(

GUESS WE WILL HAVE TO OUTSCORE OUR OPPONENTS THIS YR!

GO STEELERS!

That may happen

That may happen

Hold on Wizz-
You just may be right there, if Ward and Burress can continue their red hot play from last year (and this years NFLX) you just may outscore everyone! Pitt is one of my teams I will be wagering on hard this season. I love the fact that Cowher has lit a serious torch under Betts' ass. As for Porter- I expect him back week 8 Oct. 26 following a week 7 bye, its a home game against St. Louis that Porter should be ready for.

GL Wizz-

Go Steel curtaindance2

I don't think defense is a game this team plays anymore.

Their known for the offensive potency now.

First off, Porter is good, but he is no Ray Lewis. And as I recall the Baltimore D played pretty well when Lewis was out last year. Also, Porter missed some games last year due to an ankle(I think it was the ankle) and the D suffered some, but was still servicable. And this isn't the number one offense in the league rolling in week 1 either, its the rat-birds.

I never said the Steelers Offense was "number 1"... I said they were "red-hot". I stand by that Daddi. Take Ward and Burress and add TE Riemersma from Buffalo and I think the offense can certainly move the chains against ANY defense. I agree- Porter is no Ray Lewis but he is a tremendous talent that will be badly missed.

go Pitt:yup

PORTER AND LEWIS R TOTALLY DIFFERENT TYPE OF LINEBACKERS......PORTER MIGHT BE THE FASTEST LINEBACKER IN THE LEAGUE........HE IS A LOT BETTER PASS RUSHER THAN LEWIS.....LEWIS IS PROBABLY THE MOST INTENSE AND BEST TACKLER IN FOOTBALL......PORTER IN THE PRIME OF HIS CAREER THOUGH.

I never said a bad thing about the Steelers offense. They will struggle running the ball this year I think, but they have what looks like it could be a very nice pass attack. And I think that Porter is a very good linebacker, but I think his loss for a few games will not devestate the Steelers D. I think the real concern was and is their running game and secondary. All that being said, they will probably cover and may blow out Bmore week 1.

in a nutshell

the steeler secondary has to shore up....that`ll be the key to their success,or lack thereof, this year....

We'll be fine WIZZ, we always start out of the gate slow anyway. Week 6 is when we'll start our usual ass kicking. Porter will be back by then brother
