I see my friend from the Queen City has been using my name in vain again for no reason. I guess I need to give my opinion on this issue for his benefit.

Lott saying he voted for Thurmond in 1948 was not in itself wrong.

Now, saying he wished he would have won so those philosophies would still be in place and we wouldn't have those problems now was wrong. I think it was a pretty outrageous comment, I think it was wrong, and I think he should step down as I don't think he can be an effective leader anymore due to the animosity he has now built up with the people he is representing. Cheers, Eddie.

He gave up today. Smart move if he wants to help his party. But you watch, he will be one tough turd to deal with from now on.

and the winner is......

and the winner is......

......GEORGE W. BUSH

With Trent Lott now gone from the leadership post, "W" and Karl Rove will soon have their buddy Bill Frist as Majority Leader. Though this controversy lasted for almost 2 weeks, it's now over and the White House ends up with a big ally in the Senate. Notice that the Dems had been backing down in the past week? Think they saw this coming.

IMHO the Republicunts will do anything to get re-elected the same as the Democraps will. All this stuff with Lott and his remarks are nothing but inside the beltway BS, something to fill a nice segment for O'Reilly, King, Rather, Limbag the fag and the rest of the big winds of media.

This accomplishes absolutely nothing in the long run except strengthen the core of the Bush team, Lott was always a slight thorn in W's side it seemed to me. The CBC certainly hasn't made any progress with this move, that's for sure, just another guy who has been sacrificed on the alter of political correctness. Sooner or later everyone will get their turn.

I thought George McGovern said it best - 'If every politician who ever made a stupid statement were removed from office there wouldn't be anyone left in Washington'. On the other hand that doesn't sound like too bad of an idea.

He shouldn't have said what he said. Period.
But, if you use the Segregation Plan for education as an example, anyone who has been involved at all in public education should see that this plan has ruined our schools and consequently, built some very large and segregated private schools as a result of it.
So, I'll stand up and say that this attempt of integration has been a major failure for both races.
I have a book on this and could go on, but nevertheless, HE SHOULD NOT HAVE SAID WHAT HE SAID.
