I want to wish the LSU Tigers good luck on the rest of the season. USC fans across the nation want LSU to run the table and keep Ohio St. from becoming #3 in both polls.

Spoke with a few writers at length today who have votes in the AP poll and they stated how if LSU was to win out which will be tough(at Alabama, at Ole Miss, home to Arkansas and then the SEC Championship game) that regardless if USC wins out that LSU would vault USC in the BCS due to their strength of schedule increasing significantly while the strength of schedule of USC would drop due to games at Arizona and home to UCLA and Oregon St. They calculated it and explained it all to me and they should know as this is their job. Way too much to try and explain on line but it made perfect sense. Should be interesting.

LSU needs to be #2 in both polls to be BCS #2. Not likely LSU can pass USC in the BCS if they are ranked behind them in both polls. Their SOS will not be high enough to make up being behind USC in the polls. Also, LSU has to have WSU lose a game so they do not finish in the top 10 BCS and give USC bonus pts. Only team that has decent chance to pass USC is Ohio St.

The polls are two parts of the criteria. If LSU overcomes USC then that means they overtake OSU. I guess Scott you know more than they writers and the people who vote! You really need to quit being a know it all. Just because sports writers or whoever it is on the forum have info to support something legitimate and you don't agree does not give you a right to make up your own BCS rules. Bottom line is you don't know who Alabama or Arkansas will win or lose to over the last few weeks. This affects the grand scheme greatly. Something you are not recognizing with your arguement. Did you ever think about teams that USC has played already? Probably not, because if ASU loses out and others this affects USC greatly. With USC beating Arizona this week a foregone conclusion, did you factor in how that will affect the SOS for USC? No, there are so many scenarios that you have not touched on so don't get me going. For once, take it like a man that you are not right!

The funny thing in all of this is that none of this means bugger all. We will have a better handle on the SOS and BCS standings going into Dec.6, the final weekend. Who would have thought Nebraska could have wound up No. 2 in the BCS a few years ago to play Miami in the Rose Bowl. I remember at the time how nobody thought they could with the current system but nobody knows for sure what the numbers will spit out until the last game of the regular season has been played. Just a thought.

If you read my post carefully, I said it was "not likely" LSU would pass USC in the BCS to become #2. I did not say LSU could not pass USC in BCS.
Why do I think that? At the very best scenario for LSU, they would still have to make up a full point because USC will be ahead of them in both polls. LSU does not have the SOS in my opinion to do that. Also, if WSU runs the table (likely they will), they will finish in the top 10 BCS, which gives USC bonus points. It will be very difficult for LSU to pass USC in the BCS.
That is why I am rooting for LSU to run the table and keep Ohio St. out of the #3 spot in both polls. Ohio St. has a better chance to pass USC if they win out. Playing poor OOC games will hurt LSU greatly. Unfortunately for LSU, they will learn the hard way on reasons NOT to schedule piss poor OOC opponents.

You are right about the LSU OOCS! Problem is Marshall and some other school pulled out on them so they had to replace at the last minute and it could wind up costing them. I know there is a current lawsuit against Marshall that LSU filed before the season began. As for any USC I could see you rooting for LSU! All the best! I will be at the Sugar Bowl covering the game so Scott and anyone else going to the game or any other MJers in the forum I will be down in N.O. Jan.2 if you all want to get together!

LSU will be in if they win out. Their marketing machine will be out in full force asking the voters to compare the two schedules and they will get the votes that they need. They hold their own destiny which is all that you can ask for.

It isn't about what you think the people want, it should be about what is right. If LSU wins out they should jump USC as they will play the tougher schedule especially down the stretch. They would even have a conference championship game win most likely against a BCS ranked team. USC's last few games are a total joke as most of the PAC 10 is overall.

I can't stand it any more. I am sick of reading your stinking posts about what the "fans" want or SOS. You are nothing but a homer, plain and simple. The "fans" want the best possible matchup, they don't give a fawk about USC.
Bottom line is that USC lost to Cal. Cal!!!! They suck. Don't give me any bulls**t about La Monroe or anyone else. Arizona is La Monroe!!! Your conference sucks. And I don't want to hear about Auburn. You know why, because in the SEC we have 7 or 8 Auburn that our boys have to play every week. We do not get Arizona, Washington, Stanford, Cal, etc.. every week. In the SEC, you get lucky to get Vandy and this year Miss. St. Other than that you have to be ready to play every week.
By the way, if you can honestly sit there and say if LSU runs the table with that schedule left and does not deserve to be in the BCS title game, you are an IDIOT!! Compare the two schedules. When you have something logical to bring to the table, bring it, otherwise get ready for your tough final 3 games against two jucos and a high school team.

USC is a better team than LSU. But i hope LSU wins out because i think it will help USC. We shall see in the next 3 weeks. Last year USC clearly was the best team in the nation, and this year USC is clearly the 2nd best team in nation "so far". The next 2 years will be NC runs by USC. Good times at USC!!!!!!

No offense but you can't sit here & honestly say that USC is better then LSU. The Tigers played a tougher schedule especially in conference while your team plays in a watered down conference & lost to an average team within conference to boot.
You can say USC lost because of this or that but when it comes down to it. THEY LOST! Yes, LSU lost as well but they lost to a team with less losses, is in the thick of the conference championship race, is ranked in the BCS(should move up after this weekend), & has a stronger SOS.
Not many of us are surprised that you overlook these facts any which way you can.
