Voters want a USC vs OU matchup.
Majority of the fans across the nation want a USC vs OU matchup.
USC and OU are 2 teams with a lot more tradition than LSU. Its a better matchup.
LSU will not pass USC in the polls.
FIGHT ON!!!!!!!!!!
I wanted to stay outta of this thread, but like it or not...I got something to say to this quote.
Scott, first off, you got a solid program there in SoCal and I truly believe that they will be Oklahomas opponent in the Sugar Bowl, but for different reasons than you.
#1. LSU has a tough schedule left and they won't run the table. Plain and simple. (If they should prove me wrong, then hands down...they go no matter what everyone else says.)
#2. Ohio State has the meat of the big ten left to deal with. They got by MSU (pretty easily) but with Purdue and Michigan left to deal with, they'll lose at least 1 of those. (I think they lose em both, but being a Michigan fan, I hope they can take care of Purdue so Michigan can win the title outright.)
I, for one am not one those "fans" that want to see OK vs USC because of "tradition" or because of "a better matchup". I'm one of those fans that like to root for the "underdog" or root for someone who no one expected to be in the title game. (LSU)
It's just like a coupla years ago (3 or 4) when FSU was a heavy favorite over Oklahoma (I think 12 or 14 points) and Oklahoma beat them outright, holding them basically scoreless, except for a safety.
I think most fans across the nation would be more apt to see a big upset by LSU than they would by USC simply because no one outside of Louisiana expects them to be there.
Regardless, good luck the rest of the year. I have to become a UCLA fan because to me, that's the only chance of USC getting beat again, which could give Michigan a crack at Oklahoma. (I know...it'll never happen but I can cross my fingers...right?)
