well besides miami oh and mid tenn playing for the godaddybowl championship:mj07: , LSU vs A&M is the next big bowl game.

I played LSU early in the year, but am curious too hear, see opinions of others on the site. We have tonite off from college foots, so figured why not try too put our heads together and pick a winner.

now, according to some on this site, LSU should run away with this simply because they reside in the SEC.

I played them because of their speed on defense. They are so fast and play faster then most teams. I think they will be able too get too the QB, and I think their D creates some big turnovers. I have LSU by 13.

anyone outthere think differently? I am sure LSU is probably the sexy pick, and getting a lot of public money which makes me nervous, but really think they are they play.

interested too hear what others think...

in particular, CIE GRANT, SEC GURU???

Big question:

Who wants to be there? Does LSU see this game as "below them?"

LSU has a defense ranked 9th against the pass, and 7th in total yards.

They are fast. They are big. They play that good old fashioned SEC football. Could have had an outside, and I mean the chips would have had to really fall into place, at the NC game...but lost to Arkansas. You really have to wonder if this game is just an afterthought?

For A/M, 3 losses toward the beginning of the year really hurt any chances they had of being in any conversations of elitish teams. Won the last 6, including beating Texas in Austin, a beating they surely owned them. Sherman up for Coach of the Year considerations.

Von Miller is a certified Beast for the Aggies.

A/M 2-2 ATS as DOG
LSU 3-5 ATS as Fave.

Just don't think LSU cares, or has any incentive.

That's tough to take into consideration when capping a football game.

This game opened as a pick and LSU $$$ moved it off the number. The fact that it opened so low tells me Vegas likes the Aggies...

Texas A & M +2.

Good luck!

Based on my method for picking games, I see aTm or nothing because the line opened at Pick even though LSU has a better reputation than aTm and are from the strongest division in college football. Plus, aTm should be more motivated. Of course, I got my ass kicked all regular season, so what do I know:facepalm:

LSU lost @ Ark for a spot in the Sugar Bowl, while aTm has been insignificant for several years, so aTm should clearly be the more motivated teamin the Cotton Bowl. That said, the LSU team took the Arky loss hard, in particular the defense, which gave up a pair of 80+ yard TDs vs Ark on a pair of unacceptable angles by DB, Karnell Hatcher. Peterson, Nevis and Sheppard are looking forward to being 1st day draftees, but all seem to have some unfinished business from what is being reported.

LSU O is bad, but has played far better since midseason. Still, Jefferson blows and anyone who does not know this by now is uninformed or unrealistic. By all accounts that matter, LSU has championship talent surrounding a below-average QB. Unfortunately for me as an LSU fan, the trigger man needs to avoid mistakes, which has not been the case with JJ or his backup, Lee.

Something that has not been brought up much in national media is that LSU has been a very banged up team since game 1. This is the healthiest they will be overall this season. LSU OL is 100% healthy for 1st time since Will Blackwell broke his leg first play in the season opener vs UNC.

Good luck whatever you decide:toast:

A&M became a different team with Tannehill at QB. Von Miller is a beast and should cause some havoc. This should be a defensive struggle. However, every time I say that both offenses light up the scoreboard. I'm going with A&M.

Those are the major storylines with this team. Tannehill 5-0 as starter, and he played well and extensively the game prior to taking over as starter in a win vs Kansas. Aggs had lost 3 straight to that point. Thing is, Aggs were not a bad team at that time. Close losses to Ok St and Ark on consecutive weeks, then a bad effort in their 3rd straight big game vs Mizzou:shrug: All 3 losses are acceptable, is there is such a thing. Bottom line, this is an underrated team that could easily be 11-1 right now.

With everything that's been going on I'll look at this game tomorrow, but let's put it this way. When the Bowl lines came out LSU at pk looked like a "LOCK". It's generally a good idea to go the other way when a game seems that easy. A&M should be more motivated, I do agree with that.

I don't think LSU gives a rat's ass about this game. This has to be A&M's Super Bowl, esp. playing at the Cotton Bowl.

If this game was played on New Year's Day, when it fucking should be, then I would think differently. Playing on a Friday night, I think they are in la la land.

FWIW - If Michigan calls, Miles should get the hell out of LSU. Most fans hated him when they won the NC, they never liked him, and they won't ever like him. I think it is funny that he makes dumbass decisions, but they always seem to work out so they can't fire him.:mj07:

Agree w/Cie Grant. Don't ever let me be the one that sways your bet. The night after I had one poster thank me for my picks, I went 0 for 6 in my next picks.

GL whatever you decide. Jerry Jones couldn't have asked for a better match-up in his stadium. Aggies and Tigers will have that stadium rocking.

I have seen both teams play in person.....IMO...LSU is the better team... The speed on defense should b the difference. With that said I could not believe the line when it came out.... Like others made me scratch my head.... However after thinking about it may have alot to do with A&M 'S success closing out the year..... Hogs were 7 point favorites playing at Jerrys place...

Decided that my $$ will go on LSU. Hoping LSU formidable pass rush and re-energized OL can overcome any emotional edge that aTm might have. Losing last year to Penn St in the slop, plus the sting of defeat at Arky last time out should help motivate the Tigers.

Sincerely,

If I remember right, that was when Johnson was at QB and I can't remember if Von Miller was still hurt or not. A&M is a totally different team with Tannehill at QB and Miller on defense. Jerrod Johnson lost the Oklahoma St. game by himself. Of course the SEC guys think this is the easiest pick of the bowl season, I on the other hand, think it will be one of the best games of the season. Hard to say who wins, but I think the bet is the under.

Just looked up Johnson's stats for the Ark. game. He went 15-40 with one touchdown and believe it or not, only one interception. A&M gave the ball up 4 times, and Von Miller did play.
