JUST THOUGHT I'D GET SOME DISCUSSION STARTED:

i will be rooting for LSU and all of the SEC teams to do big things this postseason but NOT this weekend!

what does everyone have this one capped at?

Bama at Home this year as a dog:

oklahoma: 20-13(we were in this game till the last second)(barely covered @ +7.5)

arkansas: 34-31 (3 OT)(blew a 21 point lead in 2H)

Tennessee: 51-43(5 OT)(last seconds of reg.,Tenn. 1st down on 4th-19)

obviously a bad record, but the last two, have been a coin flip on who covers and that has been against superior teams, much like the tiger team that we face on saturday.

some points to consider:

1. LSU will try to blow this game wide open and EARLY for all the voters watching on ESPN.

2.I'll bet you that there are not too many tigers who have forgotten last year at Baton Rouge(I think it was Bama 31- LSU 0)
If I had to make a further guess, I would say that that might be a bit of bulletin board material in prep for this game

3. and obviously, Tigers HAVE TO WIN THIS BALLGAME to give themselves a chance in the BCS.

I know one sure bet, THIS IS GOING TO BE ONE HELL OF A BALLGAME, and i can't wait to go watch it.

clearly, i think you would have to be out of your mind to make a play on a still wounded BAMA team (unless you were in tuscaloosa), but what are some opinions on a predicted score in this game?

This LSU squad has as much focus as any team that I have ever been around. They are ready for Bama and will take it to 'em. Last year they lost big to Auburn and Bama. They already paid back Auburn and now it is time for yet another 1 dimensional football team to fall and fall hard.

from Dandy Don:

LSU will be in as good of shape physically as anyone could expect this time of the year. Nate Livings, offensive guard, is the only starter who is not expected to play in the game. Livings has returned to the practice field but most likely will not play in the game. OG Rudi Niswanger has done a great job in place of Livings and will be hard to get out of the lineup.

You are dead right on both counts. These guys are juiced from last years humiliation. Ask anyone, not just me, who has been around this team about their focus. They will tell you this team is all business. Great veteran leadership, outstanding talent and depth and a bigtime HC. The tools are in place and so are these guy's heads.

Call me a homer and you'll be right. I bleed purple and gold.

AS MUCH AS I WOULD LIKE IT....

AS MUCH AS I WOULD LIKE IT....

but LSU wins this game in a landslide. Bama hasn't done much lately. Beating Miss State last week did nothing for them but get them too over confident for LSU. LSU defense will not allow ALABAMA to break double digits. LSU will break 30's. LSU covers easily by 2 touchdowns.

Sorry BAMA FAITHFUL....

i think UMAKETHECALL is right...

L.S.U. scoring 38 PPG and # 1 scoring defence,and averaging
550 ypg offence...could be a long night for BAMA...

:soapbox: I won't waste alot of time and space, in MY opinion, too many other games I will be looking at.
Rama,Home/Conf./Dog/On tv, wounded, mad, hell I'm sure a little embarassed, with a chance to play Top shelf club like Lsu, ranked, etc.etc, so, I say, leave it alone, root with your heart, and sit on your wallet for this one. ROLL TIDE, good luck to you. Buck

I DON"T KNOW IF ANYONE HAS POSTED THIS YET:

but...

Tide running back RAY HUDSON was arrested on drug charges on wednesday (i think). i am in tuscaloosa right now and have very good sources.

hope this helps if you were pulling the trigger on LSU.

loss of hudson is a big (but replacible) blow to the Tide offense.

where is shaud williams ? croyle ? two off players with heart and pride. lsu is better, but bama scares me. they play tough. how good is matt mauck ? how did they lose to fla ? i want to bet lsu here, but these are valid issues. imo.
