This is the super bowl. The playoffs. Win and be champion or lose and u r not. Can I get a promise If you lose on the field in the playoff that you won't come on here and talk about this bs split crap. It's so weak IMO.

Please let's cut the banter right now.
Win on the field tonight and there is no discussion.

Agree to be classy losers?

Cie?

Jord, I like you and always pay close attention to your plays and analysis. I also agree with this post...you can't ask for a split now. This game is for all the marbles.

The issue I have is calling out Cie, one of the classiest guys on the site. If you wanted to hammer a point home, how about calling out RyanMcGwyer?

I appreciate that.

I was calling out for cie's opinion because I like him and respect his views. I wasn't being a dick at all. My bad if it came off that way

Why is asking for a split weak? I think asking for a SECOND chance is weak sauce, especially since that FIRST chance was at HOME.

This isnt the playoffs, this is a BOWL GAME, the regular season is the playoffs in college football and BAMA already lost.

I have no dog in the fight, but I think calling out LSU fans to accept this is weak sauce in itself.

I never write stuff to be an ass, start something, call someone out, or give an "I told you so." I write to share my opinions and hear others.

It is the bcs national championship game, not just a bowl game.

Hed, if okie state or Stanford beat Lsu, and bama beat the other, would you call for a 4 way split?? Bama had their chance. But so did every other team. At the end of the day, bama's season was 2nd best. They deserve to be here more than the others. The fact that they already played the opponent Should not be a deterrent to keep them out of the big game. It is their resume that matters , not the opponent.

I cannot be convinced otherwise that tonight Is the NC game. Period. End of story. Win on the field and don't go home and cry about the rules.

The only reason I won't call for a split is b/c the first game went to OT, so it was basically a tie.

This isn't a playoff game. 120 teams and 2 make the playoffs? Come on. They both play in the same conference and are unbeaten except for 2 games against each other. Not to mention, LSU had to play an extra game, conf title game.

Nobody went through any playoffs to get here.

Again, the only reason I like this matchup is b/c in my eyes, the first game was a draw. Think Okla St got shafted but this system is garbage so not much point in discussing.

Now, what happens if Bama wins this one in OT? Or LSU for that matter. To me, co-champs...or hell just give the AP title to Ok St...lol

Im certainly not going to defend the system, but this the playoffs. It's obviously different than our conventional view, and stupid for that matter, but this sport only has a 1 game playoff based on the regular season. This is the national championship game. Just win. Period. Or go home a loser.

Haha! For sure. That's why I started this early. I wanted it out there sober and pre-game.

I love the controversies just to embarrass the bcs. But given the system, thus is it. Win on the field or go home and accept that you couldn't get it done

tonight's game is for the national championship - winner take all

you will not hear any (smart) LSU fan asking for a split title - Cie just went to the FQ as he might have a ticket for the game, but i promise i can speak for him when i say this

unfortunately you will probably have issues with OSU fans calling for split of Bama wins though....................

and nothing you said seemed out of line imo

gl to all tonight - LA Burns

Jord, it is what it is. To be honest, they shouldn't even be playing each other under this format. If "the whole season is a playoff", then we already know who is better.....LSU. It would be different if they each had one loss but they don't. LSU is unbeaten and has already beaten Alabama and won Alabama's conference.

If not for the "tie", this game would be entire crap. Still wish there was no OT. I say it over and over....if you have no playoffs and potential for multiple champions...then why do you need OT??

I think we all agree the system stinks.

I don't think the whole season is a "playoff" either. It is a regular season for them to evaluate which 2 teams have had the best season. The 2 teams that have been selected play for the BCS National Championship. Period. That's the way I see it. I don't see the other side. What would it take for you to make the rematch ok? A 4 team playoff instead of a 2? An 8 team? I just don't see how the number of teams is soo relevant.

If they had 4 teams and Bama killed Stanford and Lsu beat OSU. and then Bama beat LSU would you still cry for a split? What if they had selected 8 teams and then those 2 played and Bama won. Still a split?

A playoff is a playoff is a playoff. No?

Good luck

I was thinking about posting this same subject. This game is for all of the marbles. Whoever wins is college football's national champions. There should be no arguement. This is the purpose of setting up a game like this, to have one clear cut champion. If LSU loses, I don't want to hear any bitching and whining about a split title. The winner takes the spoils!

I totally see your side and it is the title game. It is tough when you factor in that Alabama isn't even the best team in their conference yet playing for the title....and of course LSU had to play that title game.

Also, if Bama won the first meeting, more than likely LSU would not be here. I almost wish, with this system, that they would just say that 2 teams from the same conference can't play for the title. I mean, hell, they could easily just say that you have to win your conference to be in it.

120 teams....2 teams make the playoffs....and we have a team that didn't win their conference. Sorry, that's garbage. Just so happened Alabama was at the top when they lost and barely dropped.

LSU goes unbeaten. Beats Alabama. Wins SEC title. And....now has to play Alabama again for the national title.....

I learned a long time ago, there is no real champion in college football. Even if LSU wins.....120 teams, 2 go to the playoffs....that's not a true champion, whether unbeaten or not.

Just going to enjoy it...glad the first one ended in a tie....Geaux Tigers!

Good luck everyone, enjoy the game!!!
