I would agree with you in that Stoops would prob. get chosen by majority of the AD's over Carroll. Stoops is excellent coach and I am a big fan of his. He, like Carroll, believe defense wins championships. Both turned their programs around very fast. What i am trying to say is this.............

IN MY OPINION, I THINK THE "FUTURE" FOR USC FOOTBALL IS BRIGHTER THAN THE FUTURE FOR OU FOOTBALL. USC being coached and lead by Carroll I think will be stronger than OU lead and coached by Stoops. I am not putting down OU because i honestly feel OU will be a top 5 team every year, so i have great respect for them. From what i am seeing here at USC and comparing to other universities across the nation, USC will be heads above.

I could understand why you might think i am being arrogant and homer but i am telling you Carroll is doing something really special here at USC. The answer to this argument wont be decided until 5 years from now, but I can tell you this, next year will be the 1st year Carroll will have his players in his system. USC will be a lot better next year, and frankly, that is really scary for the rest of the teams in college football because I only think 1 team is better than USC right now. (OU, but i also feel USC can beat them).

There is a reason USC will play anybody anywhere, it is because USC feels they can beat anyone anywhere. USC is not afraid of taking the hard route to a NC. USC feels the best offense and defense they face all year is in practice. That is how Carroll wants it and soon it will be true on both sides of the ball. LOOK OUT!

FIGHT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In all fairness I can understand you see certain things & overall know that like a good # of teams can say, you will be better then x amount of teams but could anyone fairly say one team will be heads above the next?

On a lighter note how was your day?

I do remember Carroll when he coached the Jets, I thought he got a raw deal being let go after one year. I think he could have lasted.

Hey Scott,

Watch out!! It looks like Chow's loyalty that you said was to USC may be tested. Could get very interesting!!

By the way, no contest - Stoops over Carroll any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Mr Hockey......I am a UCLA fan, so no love lost between me and USC..... but after reading this thread and your constant degenerative refences to homosexual sex..... I am thinking you must watch football for other .... twisted .... reasons.

You seem unable to hold a conversation without using the tactics of a small mind....

Fletcher, mjalam,

I think USC "can" beat OU.

Noway in hell. :nono:

They may keep it close for the first half but midway through the 3rd quarter OU would show why they are spanking teams by an average of more than 3 td's.

More than likely USC will play the Sooners and you will be able to bring this post back up. The sooners will be an -8 point favorite and they will win EASILY.

I think the best bet in that game would be the Sooners and the OVER.

I think the BCS is right the way that they are but knowing friends that have shops in the Big Easy they would rather USC and Oklahoma rather than LSU. LSU fans simply wont spend the money in the French Quarter.

If OU beats USC easily, i will be very impressed. I don't think OU has a coaching advantage and I also know OU has not seen an offense like USC. I am not that impressed with OU schedule this year. I think OU is a great team, and very well coached. I just don't think OU has seen a team like USC.

USC is fast, talented, multiple playmakers, disciplined, and well coached. The only big advantage I would give OU is the special teams. USC has not returned a punt all year and the kicker chokes on big kicks.

Texas is the most talented team OU has played and USC is more balanaced, maybe even more talented because I think Carroll is a better coach than Brown and gets more out of his players and develops them. Also OU played Texas when Texas was not playing the greatest football as they are now. Even now, Texas does not throw the ball very well. USC runs and throws the ball extremely well.

My argument is not that OU is bad team, or USC is even better. My argument is OU has "not" seen a "team" like USC. So how can you predict an easy victory if OU has not played a team like USC all year. You can say the same thing about USC.

Also, I will also be suprised if USC is outcoached, especially in the 2h.

Lastly, Pete Carroll has only lost by double digits once in his 3 years at USC, and that was @ ND when USC blew a lead and lost by 11pts. Sure, OU will blow USC out. USC played the #1 SOS last year and has seen/played great teams and in tough environments. USC will be prepared, no doubt. Look what USC did against Iowa last year in Orange Bowl.

I hope OU players feel the same way you do, because they are in for a suprise if they play USC.

FIGHT ON!!!!!!!!!
