AP Source: LSU suspends Mathieu, Simon, Ware

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) -- A person familiar with the decision says No. 1 LSU has suspended star cornerback Tyrann Mathieu, along with defensive back Therold Simon and running back Spencer Ware for this Saturday's home game against Auburn.

The person told The Associated Press about the suspensions on condition of anonymity on Wednesday because they have not been announced. LSU spokesman Michael Bonnette declined to confirm any punishment for the three players, saying only that they're involved in an internal matter that coach Les Miles "will handle accordingly."

Mathieu has forced four fumbles, recovering three and returning two for scores. He also has two interceptions and 42 tackles including 1 1/2 sacks.

Ware is the leading rusher for the unbeaten Tigers with 512 yards and six touchdowns.

Simon has one interception and 29 tackles.

I put 2 dimes on the auburn tigers. This is a huge blow. Ware is by far our best back, I liked aub plus 22 now I love it. Aub will keep it inside the number. Damm blacks can't stay away from big asses or weed.

we wont fall off much we have depth at RB and DB.

Ford and Blue will carry the load but i will miss Wares bruising style no doubt.

If LSU doesnt blitz then we might be in trouble. I dont like on 3rd and long we dont blitz as much as we should.

I cant believe in this day and age marijuana is still an issue! If the NCAA did a surprise drug test today then half the players in every one of the sports would be suspended. People smoke weed. Always have and always will. The best athlete of our modern times Michael Phelps smokes weed. Its not a big deal.
