im not sure if it could be much funnier than a homer "wvu by 20+" prediction over louisville on the road. or that wvu would hold louisville to 21 points.

..... yeah, those things happened.

like i said, im not a big fan of these kinds of threads because they arent capping-related. they bring out all the homers in defense of their team. silly me, i just look objectively at games and dont get emotionally tied to teams. i was just amazed at the amount of mistakes lsu made because they dominated the football game. if you didnt watch the game but looked at the primary box score numbers, you'd have thought lsu won by at least 10. vols didnt have a yard of total offense until midway through the 2nd quarter and couldnt stop lsu for most of the game. tigers are a top 5 team that just finds way to make things more challenging for themselves and it starts on the sidelines.

Gman-

It just struck me as funny because you are ALWAYS involved in these types of threads. No offense.

You didn't have to bring my WVU woes into it :com:

I didn't mention your 2nd half Hawaii pick :)

Peace Brother.

A bit disingenuous there Wilson. You have screaming for a year about WVa being disrespected and about how anyone doubted them was a fool...blah...blah...blah...Comparing that to GMan's second half play in one game is a bit bush.....

But generally I agree with GMan's sentiments. Too much homerism around here and fandom. The thing that would get my attention - if it ever haoppened - would be for Scoot to say go against USC, or Wilson against WVa, and so on.....of course I have gone against texas and lost!

In scotts defense,

scott did say if ever there was a time that SC was going to lose a game it was going to be washington

I forget how many points they were laying but I know washington covered

Don't make me go back and gather your posts about Texas. :)

Say what you want about the LSU Tigers, but this team showed a lot of poise comming down the streach. They lack discipline because of the jacka__ head coach Les Miles. However this is the best 2 loss team you will ever see. They spotted Tenn turnovers and still found a way to win. The LSU D was amazing and held despite the amazingly poor play by the offense. Penalties and turnovers are the MO of this squad, if they can fix that there is not a team in the country with as much talent, or speed. I would fire Les Miles and replace him with Bo Pelini, he is 20 times the coach.

This Week's Vegas Oddsmakers' Top 25
While the BCS wrestles with several doomsday scenarios (undefeated Louisville vs. one-loss Florida, or undefeated Rutgers, or one-loss everybody), my much-touted Vegas Top 25 has problems of its own. LSU keeps rising the ranks despite the two losses, and I might be left with an Ohio State-LSU proposed national championship game, which could leave my recommendation that Vegas be put in charge of the BCS in ruins.

Most importantly, Vegas still wants no part of the Big East, and especially not of Rutgers. Let's be honest, this is pretty rational. Louisville has beaten two teams of consequence, both at home, but we have no idea how good West Virginia is and we can be pretty sure that Miami isn't that hot. Why in the world should we then think that Louisville is the second-best team in the country?

Plus, Vegas appears to be less-than-impressed with 7-2 Maryland, which enters everybody's top 25 this week except this one. Vegas also leaves ACC mates Wake Forest and BC unranked, instead choosing non-BCS schools BYU and Hawaii, so don't accuse Vegas of a big-name bias. West Virginia's ranking in the ordinary people polls is now in-line with Vegas's thinking, and by the end of the year, Louisville and Rutgers most likely will be in the same boat. Most overrated by the ordinary humans this week: Auburn, Arkansas, Boise State and Rutgers. Most underrated by the ordinary humans: LSU, Oregon, Wisconsin, Clemson.

Since it has something to do with the national championship, I'll put the coaches' rankings in parentheses.

1. Ohio State (1)
2. Texas (3)
3. LSU (12)
4. Michigan (2)
5. California (9)
6. Southern Cal (7)
7. Florida (6)
8. Louisville (4)
9. Notre Dame (8)
10. Wisconsin (16t)
11. West Virginia (10)
12. Oklahoma (16t)
13. Oregon (20)
14. Clemson (NR)
15. Auburn (5)
16. Tennessee (15)
17t. BYU (NR)
17t. Arkansas (11)
19. Virginia Tech (21)
20. Nebraska (25)
21. Boise State (13)
22. Georgia Tech (18)
23. Rutgers (14)
24. Hawaii (NR)
25. Texas Tech (NR)

Not ranked by Vegas: Wake Forest (19th in coaches' poll), Boston College (22nd), Texas A&M (23rd), Maryland (24th),

I love it. Another thread employing the "Whine & Win" method. It is commonly used in this forum. Congrats to those who pulled it out again.
