I don't want to hate, but what an incredible stroke of luck for Canada. First they play like crap in the first round and get Finland instead of Russia. Now they get a free pass to the finals if they can beat the Fins. Unreal. And don't even try to tell me that Belarus is a dangerous team because we all know they will get trounced by Finland or Canada. And above all that, the Canadians will be playing the winner of USA vs. Czech/Russia and you know that will be a tough semifinal to recover from.

I am gonna go ahead and say the Canadians are gonna win unless they give a Sweden-sized choke job.

Think Sweden's loss will increase Canada's focus or take away from it. Maybe with the path to gold a lot clearer, Canada might lose some focus believing they have a cake walk to gold medal game.

But with Wayne's ranting and the public pressure, maybe not.

Any thoughts?

personally, i don't think EITHER team (finland or canada) are looking ahead.

they have to WIN the game to go on and play belarus.

i don't think it's gonna take away focus from either team.

will they underestimate belarus...?? OF COURSE!!!!!

G'OH CANADA!!!!!

I promised myself I wouldn't play any money on Olympic games.....

So, here I sit with 2k on Canada ml tonight with a little in b-ball parlays.

This is crunch hockey. All teams tighten up when the elimination rounds come. The Finns success has come when they relaxed and played with thier skill. They will be squeezing the sticks tonight and Canada will be rampaging around like a bunch of kids in training camp. If Canada gets up watch for ultimate sacrifices.

I would never recommend a play on this game, I have no reason to play it except I'm a homer and I scored my first goal in about 10 games last night, so I'm pumped.

Have fun all, and enjoy the game

Hey, Allwrong

I just ended a long scoring drought in my rec league last night, too. Got a pair in our last reg season game. I think you are on the right side in the Canada game, btw.

Weird line movement in this one. Saw it at -280, then up to -300, then down to -260 and now at -280 all at WSEX.

cmon guyz, rec leagues are for sissies!!!

being a teacher, the students challenged me (i picked another teacher) to play against their COMPLETE class.

this is the way it worked.

we would play:
grade 7/8 boys team
grade 8 girls
grade 6/7 boys team
grade 6/7 girls

We, two teachers, would play 40 minutes straight while each team had about 3 lines to rotate. ( and don't give us this bullshit that we're older...we get tired too, you know!!!! :nono:

finals scores?

GAME 1: grade 7/8 boyz team: we won 41-9
GAME 2: grade 8 girls: we won 44-1 ( this one was a laugher..!!!!)
GAME 3: grade 6/7 girls: we won 44-5 ( i scored an own goal in this one....from the other SIDE of the GYM??? my stoopid defenseman wasn't there when i did a drop pass, and it went all the way back to our own goal...and went in. I took out the female defense pair on the next ensuing play against the boards....
as the immortal JOHN MADDEN would say: BOOM!!!!!

game 4: grade 6/7 boys, TBA

man, i enjoy taking out the kids who have their headz down....
:D

MUUAHAHHHAHAH!!!!!

aren't i JUSTIN CREDIBLE????

oh yeah, a good time was had by all....including the parents and fans that came out...

i love playing in front of large crowds.....

:director: Belarus is a dangerous team :)

They certainly got a break but I don't know if Sweden could have beaten them twice especially after being embarrased like that, but it would have been a great game to see. As in any short series just goes to show goaltending is everything.

Belarus a dangerous team? In your dream! That's why in Sweden it is called the worst defeat of all time all sports included! Canada will roll on that one for an easy win and then lose the the US in the final....:(

I really like that line: Canada -3.5 goals at +105 WSEX

Grab it before it goes down!

Should win by at least 3 goals but i expect more by 4 or 5!
Belarus can,t win that game there is NO WAY!!!!!!!! Even at 4 to 5, for the whole game we're better than them! Lucky Canada...:p
