That first vid was from a track in Memphis, Mo. I'm part owner of a farm 5 miles north of there and was up there hunting this weekend. I can't imagine what it feels like to be in that seat for a feature race.

Nice, after the beating I took in football this weekend this is a cure all, lol. I'm gonna have to wait a couple of minutes before I get up from my desk cause I'm sporting a chubby after watching that....:mj07:
In the first clip about 2/3rds through he changes his line and finds a better entry, wondered why it took him that long.
My motor is on its way back from being freshend. Chit, It's going to take about 3 months of overtime to pay this one off, lol. Builder says it turned 860 hp on the dyno, I laughed and said the air down there in Zona must be really good to turn those numbers. In the car it only feels bout 810.
If that neighbor of yours is looking for any parts let me know, I have a lot of connections up here.
See if ya have any incar vids of Eldora, that place is just evil looking when they run up against the wall. Take care.

If ya ever happen to be in Wiscy, we have Sippels rent a ride, or he has driving schools on certain sundays at Sun Prarie. I can hook ya up with him.
I've talked to several fans that did the driving school and they said it was one of the most thrilling expeirences they have ever done. They said they feel like they were doing 100 mph, but when they look at the clocked speed of 60ish mph. Their jaw just drops, lol. They can't imagine doing that with 23 other cars on the track at the same time, lol.

I love this stuff (local racing) too. We have good local 'circle track' action here at Beech Bend, and another track just inside Tennessee called Highland Rim. So much more entertaining imho than NASCAR, but like you alluded to, luvmy$$, a true money-pit!

I would definetely like to do that someday. If I can make it happen, I will be in touch.

I can't either. Hope this isn't a stupid question and I'm sure there is not much time to take your eyes off of what is front of ya, but do you have anyway to know who is beside or behind ya, or do you care???

Nah we went to the flea market last weekend and he bought a 2008 J&J and other spares, he should be good to go for a while till he wads it up.
I cant find any Eldora vids but here is the one I was looking for. I think this guy is from out your way. His name was Ned Powers and he towed in (I think it was the week before speedweek) to run PA and well...he didnt make out so good. If this would've been the speedweek show or an outlaw show, there would have probably been numerous fatalities in the grandstand because the entire front axle assembly landed about 6 rows deep. This is what you call "junking one"

couple more from the grove:

Don Otts kid..... twisting it to the max...sing baby sing.

This is actually an advertisement for RaceTech seats. Fast Freddie shouldve been taken out behind the woodshed after this sh!t. This would also be called "junking one" and thanking god you are still alive.

The push truck boys needed an open red for diaper changes too.

Never a stupid question

Never a stupid question

The easiest way to explain it, is tunnel vision or horse blinders. The longer you race, or the more accustomed to speed you get, that tunnel vision goes away, and you see more around you.
On short tracks, like 1/4 to 3/8th miles, I have picked my younger daughter out in the stands at speed and waved to her, lol. Also if you watch some of those in car vids that PAsprint posts, when the car is in the corner and pitched, you can actually turn your head to the left and take a look as to who is running behind you. I've been in situations where I've flipped the guy behind me the 1 finger salute with my left hand while entering a corner just to get him riled up, lol.
Personally I don't run half miles but once or twice a year. But if I'm entering a corner with 2 guys around me at 130 or 140 my bung still puckers, lol.
I run a slightly quieter header, and I wear foam earplugs. The earplugs kill the high end noise of the motors, thus allowing me to hear the low end noise on my motor at speed for tuning or terminal purposes. I can also hear if someone is on the inside or outside of me before I see them, allowing me to adjust my line. Hope this helps.

Well said....and also you certainly are not looking at the car in front of you (watching your front wing they call it here) you are looking though him at about 6 cars in front. It funny.... usually when a big crash goes down and you talk to guys after the race they say they "saw it coming" 2 laps before it happened.

yea, the first one I've seen, lol. Pretty inexpensive to do it that way.
The 2 other clips are all the guys I run with. I'm not very good with copy and pasting stuff but if ya You Tube, Heat race #4 Charter 7-12-08 Theres a heat race with me in it. The father that films these spliced out 5 laps when his kid spun, so its kinda choppy and the sun was setting so deal with it, lol. I'm in the orange #0 1st row, once I got the lead, the video is spliced, but I held it for bout 5 laps until my motor got hot and I held on for a 4th and transferred into the A main.
I'm sure theres some more clips. I'll have to dig for them.
