Sorry about last nite.Went 2-2 but lost my MAAC games. Marist's Whittington hits 8 tre's.Thats the problem with the word" inconsistent".He's been like that.But last nite he was conistent.
Two MAAC games I like today
Loy Md plus over Niagara *****
Think they have a good shot of winning outright.Line is way off.They have won 3 in a row in conf,5 of last 6 games,are 10-3 overall , 2nd place in MAAC and are coming off beating Canisius thur nite by 15.Collins is the player of the yr in conf.I love Peters, Keekee and he might lead the nation in scoring but Collins does it all.Scores,passes and plays D.James is the other gd and he avg 4 apgs.Collins avgs 5.Not bad having 2 gds avg's 9 assits a game.But the addition of 6'8 Maryland transfer Fofana is really the key.He's a double-double player and inside with Tuck are a force in the conf.
NU is 4-9 overall.Has Fisher at 6'8 who is good.Beat Fairfield the other nite.But this team is last in offense in conf.There also last in Fg%.But they hit over 99 tre's.But...this team is the "gang that couldn't shoot striaght".Although they hit 99 they missed 217.Wow. Thats 31%. Fisher is 17-67,Miles 27-76,Duffey 20-70. I'm glad I'm not coaching..I'd yank everyone of those guys everytime they hoisted up a 3.
Loy is the better team. Pastos has these kids playing.There No 2 in off,1 in assits,1 in 3pt FG%.
Last friday they played each and Loy won by 12.Collins had 28,Tuck and Fofa had DD's. NU defense is hurting and cannot get stops.Loy is 6-2 on the rd.These guys are one game back of 1st place Manhatten.Think Greyhounds can win outright.
Iona - over Canisius ***
Griffs finally start to play like they were suspposed to and then run into the "Greyhounds".They beat Marist,Brown and Fairfield in a row.Griffs play good defense.Have some speed with Wilson.But Iona's 3 gds are so quick.Burtt and Solivar should be able to score and the gaels get a road win.Iona is still reeling from Manhatten blowout.They beat NU big and came from behind to beat Peters by 8.Burrt had 27 in the 2nd half.
note: some of the stats I use are now MAAC conf stats. After 6 or more games I throw out most overall stats and use just conf stats.Non conf stats are sometimes misleading. ie...Burtt at Iona scores 23 vs Iowa St and Keekee scores 42 vs St Theresa of the Blind.
I've been doing good in the MAAC latly.Thats why I'm upset I lost those 2 yest.Will do a few more games later.

Bohawk..please continue Padre Island updates.They make my day.My dream is to retire in a few yrs.Sit on that beach chair over looking the blue ocean in the Caymans and read the NY Post sports section. [of course with a laptop]
But So Padre doesn't sound bad.
