Oregon St -11 over Niagara *****
Purple are still young having many sophs..Green is one of the top gds in the conf avg 17 pts as a frosh lyr..Mason,Lem,etc will do good in conf but not tonite...Purple have had 2 bad seasons in a row..they should be in middle of the pack of their conf....Oregon St has a happy coach but also has size up front..you can't compare the Purples front court to OSU...Brandt,Collier,Moreland,Gomis,etc are all 6'8,6'10,6'10 and 6'10..they have Starks at gd and he's solid..they did lose their top scorer to the NBA but they return almost every one else...Purple are in trouble with the Beavers,size,quickness,etc.
Denver +3 over Iona **
Iona lost Glover the MVP of the Maac and Machado the nations leading APG leader...they still have Mo Williams who should be the best gd in the conf...Armand is tough....some new recruits and transfers that are really good...it might take awhile for all these guys to gel but they will be good...Denver has some real talent in Udofia and 4 other players...they leave the Sun conf...Scott is an good coach that ran his motion offense at AF and Princeton...they work the ball and are patient..and they can score..worried about the long trip to New Rochelle but think they catch Iona early...
Rutgers-17 over St Pete **
Peter is hurting and with their one scorer Conley who might not play because of a ankle sprain...if he plays Peter might be able to cover by playing ball control and stopping RU's fast break...if he doesn't RU will win by 20 plus...game time..If I hear anything I will post..if not will probably pass on this game..
Drexel -8.5 over Kent ***
Drex is loaded with talent...still steaming about not being invited to the prom...Brusier has these guys ready...Kent lost almost every one....
Texas -1.5 over Fordham **
Rams have Gaston who is a double-double machine..Frazier at gd and some new transfers with almost every one returning...but Rams defense is always suspect..Texas St is about the same but score a little more...think the home team wins this and covers by a few...
Creighton -10 over North Texas **
Spent mucho time all week on this game..tried and tried to get the numbers to work for my Mean green but I have the line at -13...NT has the big stud in Mitchell...inside-outside and will be a lottery pick..they have everyone coming back plus the 2 knuckleheads that didn't play in the 2nd half because they forgot to go to classes..NT is loaded and will return to the big dance...but Creighton at home is the wrong team to open up against...they have someone better then Mitchell named McDermott who is 1st team All American...then they have 6'9 270 Echenique...who is probably one of the best centers in the country...they have solid gds,etc,etc...the problem for NT is Omaha is a tough place to play...they will own the bds,shoot FT's well,and will pack it in to force Mitchell outside and play str up man/man...NT plays too "lossey goosey" but they do have a new coach who is working on that...hope this game is close but in the end I see the Bluejays pulling away....
