Ciny just got by Temple the other day...Smoo lost but they have enough offense to keep the Cinncy defense in check..but Smoo has one player ??? today..so might have to wait..

FSU +2.5 over Miami ***
Tough rivals..both 12-2..but Sems I think are the better team...both teams have loads of offense,both can score,both play defense...but FSU has Mann who is the best player out there today...FSU just beat NC..think despite being on the road they win outright...

Iona -6 over Fairfield **
Stags coming off a blowout loss to Rider..Stags have Nelson who can shoot but the rest of the team can't hit from the outside...Rider spanked them friday night...Stags defense was terrible..today they meet a better offensive team in Iona...Iona is at home...although their defense isn't has good as Riders they have some scorers and should win by double digits..Stags have now lost 6 of last 9...make it 10 today...

Niagara -3.5 over Marist ***
Foxes can't play defense..yet they have been scoring some points..Knudson the other gd can shoot.. Foxes have 3 or 4 white kids from Europe and Iceland who can hit open jumpers..but they have to be open...if there contested forget it...they lost to manhattan in OT giving up 101 pts..they scored 96..Purple have 2 stud players Scott is one of the best scorers..Dukes his partner is right behind him avg around 20...Purple if they play any token defense should win this on the road...but if Purple plays defense like the Jaspers Foxes could score 90..but Foxes can't play defense so Purple might score 96 and cover..not sure of over-under but this game could be over with 10 minutes left in the game..

Canisius -4 over Seina ***
Someone please don't pinch the Griffs..they have won 5 in a row..just beat Iona are in 1st place in the conf...Crumpton on fire hitting 3's..Reese is scoring....Saints have all sorts of problems on the court and off the court...Griffs take advantage of them today,,

St Peter -6.5 over Quinn
Peter scored on Friday night...look out..if this team ever got its offense in track they could be unbeatable...they do play defense..

Rider -3.5 over Manhattan ***
Rider can score...blew Fairfield out of New Jersey Friday nite...can they play defense...Manhattan won up in Poughkeeksie ugly letting Foxes get open jumpers all thru out the game...MC is home.Williams who is back had big game vs Marist scoring 20 pts 7 bds...MC was known for their tenacious defense...throw that out..Rider has some scorers in Allen and Jordan a super pt gd..he negates the MC home court...

yesterday got to see the Baylor-Texas game..Ferrell is a great place to watch a game..was in row 6 right at midcourt...Baylor played a 1-2-2 zone than went to a 3-2...Texas bought in a freshman kid Febres who hit four 3 ptrs..everyone was a swish...no one knew this kid...except Shaka the coach.. I'm sure in practice before the game this kid could shoot vs the zone..Texas is paying Shacka millions of bucks so he should know...a zone buster....Baylor was stumped...this kid had 18 points at halftime and the Texas fans didn't know him...let alone the Baylor fans...but Baylor also pays Scott Drew big bucks and he made a halftime adjustment and has 6'3 King McClure shadow Ferbes...Ferbes got one shot off in the 2nd half after getting 18 in the 1st half..and he shot an airball...Baylor defense held Texas to 20 pts in the 2nd half...last 5 or 6 minutes Texas never scored...Baylor won 69-60..the battle inside between both teams big men was great..Mamba had some big time dunks and blocks and so did Acuri...

Getting to see 2 games in 2 nights..made me realize what a difference in Texas St-So Bama and Texas-Baylor...So Bama Sikes was awesome...Smart last week for North Texas was outstanding...but not one of these guys could probably start for Baylor and Texas.. I really have to put things in perspective....when you sit so close on these games and then last week North Texas-UTSA..there is a much bigger difference more then I thought...I am so used to seeing the Manhattans,St Peters, and the Texas States...

What I love more is watching the coaching...Shaka's playing his freshman was not anticipated by Drew at Baylor and almost pulled out a win. Drew responded at the half...the other nite Kasper at Tex St made some great adjustments...last week the new North Texas coach saw that his star Keith Smart was not getting the ball..he called a time out and got into everyone's face..Smart with 5 minutes left got the ball on every possession and North Texas beat UTSA by 1...

love watching all of this right in the front rows...you can see,hear and feel the game...might not make a lot of money playing on these games but sure do enjoy it...
Next week the Austin Texas YMCA opens its season...I will be coaching my grand daughter....we will be playing the Cuse 2-3 zone.diamond press,and fast breaking.....lol just kidding...we will work on fundamentals,fundamentals and more fundamentals...if we go 0-10 that is fine..but these kids will learn how to dribble,pass and pivot.....
