More bad news comes out of the Hudson Valley and the Poughkeepsie area.Monogan their pt gd,3rd leading scorer 8.pts and 3rd in bds is out for the season.I think there listing him as probable for tonite but he's out for the yr.not as big as loss as it might sem because of fr gd Jordan's emergence.Monogan was getting less playing time after every loss.And speaking of losses the foxes have lost 9 in a row.And one of those was to Loy Md who broke their 30 game losing streak.
Adding more injury to insult tonite 7'0 Castleburry returns where he played 2 yrs ago.Marist fans will boo loudly.
Foxes are hurt'in.Ellerbee their best shooter is so off.Young their best player is lost in space.McClurkin is solid but he is the only true rebounder.Tonite he will have his hands full with 'Burry.
Rider has Johnson who is there stud.
Muniz,Taylor and JJ should be able to shoot vs the Marist 2-3 zone.Put Burry down low and Rider should be able to get good shots.
Crowd will be small tonite since many went home for the 4 day weekend.Marist FG% is terrible.3 pt shooting,rebounding FT %,etc
Rider has better talent all around.
I would love for magarity to get a win tonite but think the Foxes are in trouble.Rider did beat Marist by 4 in Jersey.But Marist has played worse since.close game tonite but Johnson at the end carries them for a 4 or 5 pt road win.
Iona +14.5 over Manhattan ***
Revenge game for the Jaspers after getting blownout of New Rochelle.Flores,MC defense,Holmes,Draddy gym,etc,etc are all advantages for manhattan.
But although MC has won the past 4 or 5 times in the Bronx 14 pts is a lot.I watched them play last time.Iona has 15 blocked shots.Jenkins dominated.Williams played big.Iona is the type of team that causes matchup problems because they have speed and 4 gds out there.They have no discipline and their coach sucks.But they can shoot,rebound,kick out and overall are faster then MC.I believe in their last game Iona has 18 pts off their fast break.MC had none.
I know the game will be different but I think the Jaspers struggle a little vs Iona.MC will win but I think by 8-10 pts.Iona has the talent to beat anybody.DeShawn Williams played big in there last game.And Flores was shutdown by Burtt,McCullough,Williams and co.And Bruin the big frosh dominated on the inside and jenkins had a caeer nite.MC is only .500 ats the past couple of yrs at home .
Brown -4.5 over Harvard ******* best game
Brown has been home the past 5 of 6 games.But now they take to the road.Forte,Powers,Martin Kilborn are way to fast for harvard.I think the line is off maybe due to Harvard almost beating Princeton last week.Brown up and down is a much better team.Scoring,defense,FG%rebounding.Brown is at the top in the Ivie stats where Harvard is dead last in many.But despite losing in OT to the Tigers lets not forget that same week they lost to penn by 30 os something and a month ago lost to Sacred heart by 20-30.They turn over ratio is terrible.They can't shoot.They do have some rebounders.Rogus and Stehle avg 15 and 13 pts.
But Brown has 3 or 4 in the top 12 in scoring.
Brown has Forte who is just plain quicker out there.Crimson cannot stay with them despite playing at home.Brown has won by 13,5, and 9 the last 3 times.
I see harvards poor defense having major problems contesting Browns balanced attack.
Brown wins by 10 or more.
Yale -6 over Dartmouth ***
Small play.Yale has been playing great defense in their past few games.Gamboa,Minoff,Martin,Vitilli,Droug, are pretty talented.But Yale on the road plays like a CYO team.But maybe playing Dartmouth will get them back on track.Dart is bad.Pattman has come alive but they have no rebounding.Defense is terrible.Their banged up with injuries.Yale inside the paint should dominate.
Dartmouth lost to Columbia at home 72-48.Hartford won by 10,Lehigh won by 3 all home.Colgate,Quinnipiac,St Theresa of the Blind have all beaten dartmouth.
anyway this is the start of the "Winter Carival" this weekend up there.Parties,skiing,snowball contests,etc,etc
Yale gets a road win.If Yale cannot beat the Green and cover there is something wrong.
