Hudson Valley area.....NY
...that I like.
Tough openers...wow.
Started breaking down these games 2 weeks ago.But in 2 games there are problems that just arose.Siena's best player Jordan who also is a defensive stopper has the flu.He hasn't practiced but said he will play tonite. I like Siena plus tonite over Niagara.
Siena has surprised everyone.I'm still upset about them firing Lanier but McCaffery has these kids playing. They play 4 gds sometimes. They are quick and athletic.Kojo Mensah right now is playing the best in the conf.Pl of the week avg 17 pts,9 bds and 8 assits.Plus he's the best defensive player in the MAAC.Jordan is just as good.Tay Fisher who comes from my area can lit them up from anywhere. This team has no size what so ever. But they hustle, pressure the ball and can score.
Niagara is having trouble shooting the ball. Against Bucknell and Buffalo there stats were amazing...3-22 etc,This team lost 3 big players and are still learning how to gel.Fisher is playing like a monster. They are better then there playing and always dangerous at home.Siena on its northern trips to the Nannok Buffalo area are 5-19 the past 12 yrs.
Think this game is close.NU is down a little.Don't shoot well yet and the Saints pressure the ball.If Jordan was 100% I think they cover easy. But Siena needs Jordan as there go to guy.If he stills has the flu Purple will win by double digits.

Canisuis..minus over Peter
.Canisius was one of the the top teams in the MAAC but are playing terrible.Lost to Hartford and FDU and was 4-17 and 3-15 from the 3.Downey is there stud and everything goes through him.But his teammates aren't stepping up.Getting stops on defense, rebounding, etc.
Mac their coach is one of the nicest guys in college hoops. He was on the hot seat but the Griffs extended his contracts.
I think part of their problem was losing Doss to graduation.
Lyr Can lost 9 out of its 1st 10 games but were 9-3 ats home for the year. But they already this yr lost to Hart and FDU at home.
If Clark was 100% I would take Peter. But I don't think he is.Griffs are due to get there act together.Harris and Wilson need to step up and help Downey.Small play with home team waking up and Kee kee kids still to young.

Marist plus over Manhattan *
Jaspers and Gonzo are mad. That scares me a litle.Playing in little old Draddy. There 0-4 but almost beat the Cuse last week. They have losses to URI and G-Mason.Foxes 7'0 Smith is tough.Have watched him 3 times and he can flat out play avg 15 pts a game.Think that nuetralizes CJ and Dubois inside a little.Foxes gds are better then MC's.Jordan is the 2nd best pt gd in the MAAC.Whittington was 2nd in the nation in 3's.Hood is starting and can stay with the Minors and Xaviers.Foxes will play match up zone. Jaspers can't hit FT's 62%.
This is a small play because Jaspers have dominated MAAC.They have played a tougher schedule, are hungry and capable of blowing the Foxes right out of the Bronx.

Loy Md plus over Fairfield **
2nd yr coach Pastos could get coach of the year. This team was 16-96 the past 4 yrs.He brings the Terps style offense here and a transfer from maryland in Collins who is outstanding.Stags are rebuilding.Todd,Han and Van S are solid gds.Think they have matchup problems vs Loy.

Summary
Loy Md over Fairfield **
Canisius over Peter *
Marist over Manhattan *
Siena over Niagara ** but Jordan status drops it to *.
All tough games.Could easliy go 0-4.All small plays

+9 is a lot to be giving the saints, imo...they know how to score & i believe jordan plays tonite, won't want to interrupt team dynamic unless absolutely unavoidable...saints have completely destroyed my pre-season take on them, are hungry and hustling, hc mac seems to have them on his side, could see some real connection in local tv courtside post-game interview w/ kojo...also think this group might not care about previous disastrous northern ny road trips, new hc, new philosophy, etc...saints still exhibit many mental lapses on both ends but, as stated, know how to score so i'll try +9 for a small play...gl, caper
