Hudson Valley area.....NY
Fairfield -15 over Marist ****
Stags are one of the biggest disappointments in the MAAC this yr...they lost Cooley to Prov...I watched the Iona game the other day...no discipline on shots..Needham who is probably one of the best gds in the east is out of control....Sanders the BC transfer can score and rebound..impact player...Olander is 7'0..their are very few 7'0 players in the MAAC that can walk and chew gum...he can...Barrow is a 6'5 solid fd...this is a solid team yet they have lost 4 of their last 6 games...the other nite many liked them over Iona figuring they make a statement ..But Iona was coming off their worst loss of the season and they are talented and dangerous...they destroyed the Stags..well guess who comes to the Nutmeg state today but my boys the Foxes...they have lost their last 6 all by double digits..they are 0-9 on the rd,and can't shoot....vs Siena the other night they started out the game shooting 1-16 and ended the game shooting 1-10...Price and Lewis can score at the gds but their front line is so limited.Kemp is big but has no moves to the basket...he'll score his 10-12 pts a game...last week at the Manhattan game they just locked him up...he had 2 pts...and when your sitting about 20 feet away its not hard to figure out how to stop him..just deny the ball and front him....think the Stags today blow the Foxes away...I've stayed away from them recently because of their erratic play...I;m giving them one more chance...

Siena +5 over Rider ***
Saints have Anosike who leads the nation in bds and is going for his 17th str double-double..Saints have won 2 in a row and are playing better...their biggest problem is they have no depth...they play only 6 or 7 players...if Ano gets in foul trouble they are hurting...they beat Rider by a few in Albany...think this game stays close and if Ano plays big could win outright...think Broncos win this by just a few.

Loy Md -10 over Cansius ****
Greyhounds are tough...inside and outside...these guys are at the top in standings...Walker and Ethery cause big time match up problems inside the paint...Drummond had a huge game the other nite vs NU...Griffs are one of the worst teams in the conf...Greyhounds have size, quickness, better shooters,rebounders,etc,etc...Pastos has his kids playing good basketball right now..no way a weak team gets in the way..unless these guys are looking ahead to the Iona's...

Iona 14 over St Peter ****
This game has blowout written all over it...Peter can't shoot or score....Machado and co will come into Jersey City and should win by +20..Peter will have a bigger crowd today since Iona is in 1st place...instead of 300 maybe 500...Peter post defense will have trouble stopping Glover the best player in the MAAC...even if Iona brings its B game to NJ and Peter plays its A game...Gaels should win and cover...if Iona brings its C game..then maybe Peter can cover...Iona is on a mission....

Manhattan -3 over Niagara ***
Jaspers do 2 things that Purple can't do...rebound and play defense..MC is the best def team in the conf....full court man/man,traps,etc..but what scares me is that NU has 4 gds to negate Manhattans biggest strength.MC has to match up 4 gds to play defense....MC has 2 solid gds in Beamon and Alvardo.... inside they have Brown and Colonette at 6'6 and 6'7..NU has no matchup to stop them....but NU's can score on offense..so you have the two top offensive and defensive teams going against each other..I'll go with the over all better team and despite NU's scoring gds Alvardo is the coolest player out there...and Beamon his partner is solid...

Iona lost to St Pete's in MAAC conference final last year as well so a little revenge is due. Cost Iona their ticket to the dance.
