Iona -6 over Fairfield ****
Iona is loaded esp. on offense..Armond is scoring big time from the 3.He had to watch last yr Jones do everything...top player in the conf..Bowman can score and inside you have Laury who controls the paint..Iona just out scores everyone...they play no defense because no one wants to get in foul trouble just like last yr..but this is the worst Stag team in years...I think one of the reasons is that Needham their pt gd that graduated last yr is gone. He had the ball 95% of the time..everything went off Needham..w/o him and no true scorers the Stags can't create anything.They always played solid defense but vs an Iona who has 5 guys that can score they will have problems today...Iona has a problem that once they get a big lead like Manhattan " they take their foot off the pedal"...and glide...but no way today even if they do that does Fairfied stay with them.
Niagara -5.5 over St Peter ***
Both teams can't win.Purple are 1-9...always a dominate team in the MAAC.Peter has been bad the past couple of years..always a blue collar team that plays tough defense but hasn't had any offensive stars...Purple do have Mason who is avg 28 pts a game...but what the hell is he doing shooting 3's all game..he was 0-13 from the 3 the other nite..but he attacks the basket and gets mucho pts from the FT line..he has a little better cast around him and playing at home should give Niagara a double digit win...Peter was beaten friday nite across the street at Canisuis 82-67..
Quinnipiac +3.5 over Rider **
I think many of you are saying WTF is Quinnipiac....where are they from...its in Conn...the schools campus is unreal..how do I know that..because in my HS office the guidance dept has a huge poster of Quinn...a friend of mine daughter went there..tuition about 6 or 7 years ago was $44,000...the Rutty kid played there 2 yrs ago and was a stud.He came from a HS right next to mine....anyway..
I like this new addition to the MAAC...they have one of the top rebounders in Azotm and Drame..if they can get some consistent gd play they will be in the middle of the pack..Rider has Myles one of the top players..but think Quinn can keep this close with their control inside.
Canisuis -6 over Siena **
Griffs are hard to figure out..but Baron who did nothing Friday nite vs Peter is tied with Beamon for POY...he can score and shoot...pass and rebound..Griffs have 6'10 Heath inside and Manhertz who is so under rated..typical game the other nite..13 pts and 6 bds...Patos is doing a nice job with the Saints but his line up is so small..today he is starting 2 players from the bench that are 6'8 but they aren't scorers..Siena problem is they are putting everyone to the FT line..they rank almost last in the country in putting teams on the foul line. Griffs will take advantage of this...
Rutgers -2 over Seton Hall ***
Two BE teams that suck right now..not BE but what ever that league is now AIE,AAU,EI O U E...FDU beats the Hall...FDU cancels all classes the next day..RU getting beat...by bad teams..Hall has one stud in Edwin..he can play and score.But he is out today...Nites have Mack who is one of the best shooters in the BE or what ever..Jack inside can score..think RU at home w/o Halls top player should win this game..
