St Peters +4.5 over Fairfield
This game will come down to who scores the last pts in a close game.
Peter is improving game by game.Sowers and Yates the 2 juco fowards are coming alive.Both are rebounding well and Sowers is so athletic inside that he has added another dimension to the Peter attack.Mendez another fd came in the other nite and rebounded well also.
Clark is No 2 in the nation in scoring at 27 pts.Nichols is the 2 gd who won Frosh rookie of the week in the MAAC.He can stick the 'J" esp when teams double up on Clark.He's still shooting only 30% but he is one good looking frosh.Never turn the ball over,passes nice.He has put Devonish on the bench.And less minuts for Hinnant.Watkins another fr can play but is coming back from an injury.Thats 5 gds that are all quick.Boz and Ali are the 7'0 role players.
Peter fast breaks,runs a great secondary break and when Clark has the ball he can stop on a dime and hit a 25 ft shot or drive and get fouled.
Fairfield is Gai-less tonite.The no 4 shot blocker in the country is still out.Losing him on defense is much more important then his loss on offense. Todd,Thomson, and Bell have all increased their Pl time and scoring avg to 18 pts,7 bds total.
So Gai's absence isn't lost on offense.Maxwell has stayed the same.
Todd is on fire the past 3 or 4 MAAC games.He is now 4th in scoring for gds in the conf.And he is the only player that can create his own shot off the dribble.Goode is another scat back gd that doesn't score much.
Peter has a much quicker team.A little smaller and Leckie will play his 3 gd offense.It worked a few weeks ago when peter won in OT vs the Stags 72-68 .Gai scored only a few pts in that game with a couple of bds.
Timmy O tonite must stop Clark tonite.Todd his best off. player cannot stay with Keydren.Fatigue and foul trouble are his main concerns.Goode will shadow him but regardless...Clark will get his and his teammates are learning now how to play with him.
Peter wins this by a pt or 2 in Conn
Marist -6 over Loy md
Watched these 2 teams play last time.Loy md leading at half by 9.Then the Fox woke up and blew them away.Foxes won't let them get a lead tonite.
Loy has lost 30 in a row,etc,etc,etc
They can't shoot the ball.In Marist game they were 6-30 from the 3.Bell was 1-8.Bossman their best player had 11 pts and 5 bds.he's out tonite.Half the team is hurt.Hinds is out tonite.Tuck is probable,so is Dixon and Chatman.It doesn't matter.they can't shoot anyway.Bell had 25 the other nite and they were leading Fairfield at the half.But again they can't play 2 halves.
Foxes have been up and down.But marist will play that 2-3 zone and Loy will have trouble.Ellerbee and Johnson are solid at the gds.Jared Johnson is a future star and only a frosh.Maris t won the 1st meeting 64-48.Jonson came off the bench to get 6 assits and 5 bds.Since then he has been stating, McClurkin the 6'8 kid will control the bds.
Margarity will play his zone and see if bell is hitting the 'J".He is inviting Loy to shoot.They have no interior attack so he can spread it out.
loy will start 3 guys avg 14,7,3,3 and 2 pts a game

Marist shoots 40% to Loy 37%. 3 pt shooting Mar 30% to 32%.Ft shooting.Both teams are baaaad Loy 66% to marists 65%.
But Marist has won the last 10 games in this series.
Tuck and James are freshman starting.With all the injuries I don't think Loy can stay with the foxes for 40 minuts.Foxes need a win real bad after losing their last 3 games by 4,6 and 3 pts.And 2 of those were vs St peter.

Tough game.Siena started out 0-10 and now have won 4 of 5 in the MAAC.They beat Rider 71-64 down in Jersey.Beat Loy,Iona,and Canisius.Lost to Niagara by 4. That tells you something.Their defense is playing better and they can still rebound big time.Off is a problem. But they have Haddix insdie a big 6'6 scorer and rebounder.
Rider has Johnson one of the best gds in the conf.He is on a tear avg 29 pts in his last game.Castleburry the 7'0 is playing better.Rider has some players that can score.But joyhnson can dominate a game.
Lanier in their 1st game ball hawked Johnson and held him to 14 pts.Frosh jackson was all over him.That might work once but not tonite.The saints own this series.Rider on the road is an avg team.Saints are in 5th place one game behind Rider.Think they slow Johnson down and let Jordan their best athlete go to work.
Saints control the bds and are playing at home.Saints have 3 road games after tonite.They need the win.Rider has 4 or 5 home games coming up and a loss tonite only puts them at .500.
Not crazy about the 4 pts.I think its a 5 or 5 pt game.So small play.
