MAAC tourney at Siena..

Canisius -11.5 over Marist *****
Griffs beat them just last week 71-57 and a few weeks ago by almost the same score at Marist...will be back later to explain more....I have this line at -14...

Hofstra -6 over Ga ST *****
Hof just beat them in last game of the season at their place 62-56 and at Hof 71-59....Hof can rebound well and will dominate inside.With jenkins outside Ga St is in trouble...

Hi Box,
Thank you for posting, always appreciate your thoughts. Just had one question, in general it is difficult to beat the same team three times in one season, does this not apply in the case of the smaller conferences do to the talent level discrepancies?

That rule is actually a big falicy. If you are better you are just better. I suppose the more times you play an inferior team the better chance they could eventually get lucky and beat you but if you enter tournament play against a team you are better than it shouldnt have any baring. My two cents

If i speak as a basketball coach I think beating someone 3 times is tough.I can remember beating a team in my league 2 times..then having to play them earlier in a Christmas tournament..that 3rd time is tough.As a coach you have to convince your team that the other two games don't mean anything,etc...and although I think I won most of my 3rd games it was the closet game of the 3.I remember way back playing 3 games and then met them in the sectionals..4 times...only happened once in my life....and I won all 4....as far as handicapping not really sure...something tells me the 3rd game would be tougher..but like tonite...canisius has one of the best pt gds in the MAAC.Their front line is so much better then the Foxes.....Marist plays 7 freshman,is last in almost every possible category in the conf...Martin is a terrible coach...he was an asst under calipari at memphis..uses the dribble -drive offense...has no gd that can penetrate and has no one to shoot....run some motion or a flex..set a freak'in screen....they have 2 wins.. tied with Acorn am with the worst record out of 335 D-1 schools...Griffs beat Niagara,Rider,Loy md,Iona and So miss...like them big time tonite

all good points box but ga state will come to play today. coach barnes has the boys ready. look for ga state to fight hard off the boards and take this one down to the wire.

Sorry I'm a little late....Didn't realize the Hofstra game already started..sorry...I only put 2 **'s on the game and was going to add a few more now..still like them. I know Ga St will come out hard but I like Vines and jenkins..I love good gds in tourneys...Jenkins is one of the best in the Colonial.

Harvard -8 over penn **
Akron -3 over Kent st **
Johnnies -4 over De Paul ***
Like Johnnies here....they do play tough defense.They need to win tonite.DP is the worst team in the BE. No way can they lose because Roberts will be out.DP has lost 11 in a row.But 10 of those losses were by 10 or less.Think Kennedy and co will come out tough on defense and score just enough to cover.

Illi St -6 over Ind st ***
I like Edrigle at the gd and Odiakosa inside..

Chattanooga -1 over Ga South **

Loy Md -2 over Manhattan ***
Greyhounds play better defense.Already beat MC 2 times.Harvey is tough at gd,walker should dominate inside.MC has no inside presence inside what so ever.They have two good gds in Pickett and Crawford...but greyhounds overall have the better team.

Santa Clara +3.5 over SD **
Drexal -5 over JMU **

best play Canisius.....strong play
