Iona comes up to Poughkeepsie today with a 6-0 record.They are loaded and Ruland finally has the right combo's as long as no one gets suspended,cuts class,etc.
Lyr Iona beat the Foxes by 11 and 4 and Iona is better this yr.Burtt is 4th in the nation in scoring avg 24 pts.Solivar is shooting 52% from the 3 and is one of the nations top stealers.Springer and Wach are controlling the bd.McCullough is my fav player who does nothing but penetrate and dish and gets no headlines.You have to remember this is one of the most undisciplined and selfish teams you have ever seen.But there undefeated and knocked off Iowa St 89-72.
They need to win on the road in the MAAC.Lyr they were 3-6 but one of those wins was @ Marist.
Foxes have lost 2 in a row.Manhattan beat them 90-79 with Wingate hitting hitting six 3's. Wingate couldn't hit six 3's in practice but...he did vs a terrible perimeter defense.And that is the Foxes problem.Defending the 3.
Jordan,Smith, Whit are all solid.But Iona is so much quicker and Jordan will have a small gd on him.Foxes can score but Iona in the end with transition,fast break and outside shooting win this by 8-10 pts.Foxes had 17 turnover vs MC.Iona will do the same and pressure them.Mac returms which will help Marist but not enough.
Siena plus over Canisius *****
Saints will win this outright.Kojo Mensah had another great game vs Niagara scoring 29 pts in an upset win by 1.Is the best player in the MAAC.He's scoring,rebounding,getting assits.Had no turnovers.It's not a fluke or he is playing hot. He is also the best defender in the league.He's the real deal.Jordan is still there go to guy.Saints are playing 4 gds and a foward.They are small,quick,defend and attack the glass.On the ball defense is there game.Fisher the 3 pt shooter prides himself in getting stops.He will be on the Griffs Downey today.
Canisius is 0-5.They are better then that and I thought they might wake up vs Peters friday nite.They play with 3 gds and 2 fds.They have trouble scoring and one nite someone steps up and Downey gets lost.No consistency.And today your playing a bunch of attacking dogs.
Saints wins this outright with there 5th straight win.
Peter plus over Niagara *
Clark is hurting.His playing but not scoring.Had 17 the other nite.But he is dishing out passes,etc.Keekee kids are playing well.Orta can shoot,Sowell,Boz,Owes,etc.Think Peter can kep this close.Niagara is having a problem with there gd play.Against the Saints it was 4 gds and 1 fd vs NU's 1 gd and 4 power fds.Team doesn't have any cohesive yet.They have some talent but Fisher is there only sure scorer.
Think Peters gds do the same as what the Saints did to them.Purple might win but it should be close.But Peter could also win this outright.
Loy Md plus over Manhattan *
Love this team.Pastos doing unreal job.Collins will be tested today.MC after being 0-5 beat up the Foxes.But Loy at home will be tough.Think they give the Jaspers some problems.No way Wingate is going to hit six 3's.MC did play the Cuse tough away.Loy is 5-0 but have not beaten anybody big.Fairfield win on the road was nice but MC is not Fairfield. Have to be careful here because Jaspers do play tough defense and with CJ anything can happen.But I'll take the Greyhounds for a small play.
Georgetown minus over Fairfield *
Hoyas at every postion are better.Front line gds,defense,etc. Georgetown wins this by 25 coasting..
