MAC Championship

College football YTD : 30-15

A game contested to be MAC champions is kinda like a contest to be tallest midget. It will feel good to the victor but really has little value in the grand scheme of things. Both of these teams were much, much better last season yet no other MAC teams could rise up to prevent a rematch of last years game.

I'd be lying if I had a strong read on this one so I favor a total play based on a few things. Neither NIU or BG possess a vertical passing game that has much in the way of quick strike capabilities. Another reason is that I like the match up of NIU's rushing attack against a BG defense that is pretty weak against the run. They are weak against the pass as well but if NIU can run it on them they will all night. BG gives up 6 ypp. which is awful, only Eastern gave up more yards per play.

All that said, I don't trust NIU enough to lay points and won't.Their offense is far less dynamic than it was with guys like Lynch and Harnish at QB the last few years.

Key stats: BG has not topped 30 points in their last five games nor has NIU allowed more 24 in their last 5 games.

I love this play. I think this game is going to be WIDE OPEN. Nordonia Spread vs Lasalle's all everything Larkin. If the first 3 games of the state tournament tell us anything we are going to have some high scoring.

I, however, Like Canton Central Catholic +8.5 tomorrow. I know Coldwater is the dynasty. 2 time defending and 5th or 6th consecutive state championship game... But I think Canton Central can play with them. I think this will be the best game of the weekend. Look for a slobberknocker.

I also think Maria Stein Local vs Norwalk St. paul will go over the 54.

Nordonia Over Winner... A little lucky as there was less than 550 total yards COMBINED in the game. But we got a punt block for a TD and a INT Return for a TD... Then of course the new Ohio Rules had us playing with a running clock in the 4th.

Winner winner chicken dinner. Look for Larkin on the D1 level. He is good.

I was impressed with a few kids from LaSalle tonight. To hold Nordonia to 20 pts was quite an accomplishment. I hear that N'Western has the inside track on grabbing Larkin. I hear that he's a heady kid with good grades.

I'll look at those two tomorrow morning thanks.

Nice to get a couple nice stress free wins tonight. BG's team total under was never a concern.

Lasalle has another kid who is going to Northwestern. Larkin is a great kid and is the nephew of Barry. I have heard N'western but I believe the big boys are going to get involved... He rushed for 2500 yards this year.
I am SUPER impressed that Lasalle was able to shut down Nordonia. Murray had 58 TD's on the year and he was shut down. WOW.

I love this time of year. Here in Denton, TX today I have Allen vs Euless trinity... Allen has a QB that is all world and Allen has not been able to play 1 home game this season because the construction on their 60 million $ stadium was done shitty... Thus they had to close the stadium this year in order to repair. Allen has still dominated on the season. Kyler Murray... All I have to say.
