Hard to figure Toledo being favored over anybody right now, much less C Mich. Huge inside edge for Kaman in this one.

Miami has stomped the piss out of the Herd in their last couple trips to Oxford when Marshall had the talents of Slay and Van Hoose, so I'm leaning Redhawks as well . Charlie over Greg Wright is worth about 5 points alone.

Ball State has very quietly turned their season around, they are looking really good lately.

No opinion on Western- Bg. in a battle of two very solid defenses. If the 3s are falling for Bg you should be OK, but if they are not WMU can really shut a team down.

The battle betwen Gates and Hunter should be epic, difference in this game should be that Kent can throw a couple more big bodies in Edwards and Gerwig at the Bobcats. But face it, between the loss of coach Heath and the talents of Hoffman and crew, this years Kent team is not nearly as good as last years edition. Yet O'Shey and Bobcats are always an attractive go against outfit.

Just my ramblings, good luck:cool:

I LOVE the ramblings...need more of it :D

Toledo is favored due to HEAVY success against the Chips. UT leads, 41-25. The Rockets have won nine of their last 10 meetings with the Chippewas at Savage Hall and have an all-time home mark of 24-9 vs. CMU. <--- The would explain it :p But like you said, no answer for Kaman...

I agree with your Gates/Hunter showdown. That should be a classic in Athens. Wish I was there to attend it

And 100% on Ol Charlie being worth 5 points alone :)

Good Luck Spang and everyone else ;)

LOAD UP ON BALL ST

BUFFALO, NY ? Turner Battle (Kernersville, NC/East Forsyth) fractured and dislocated his left middle finger in practice on Feb. 13. The injury requires surgery and as a result the sophomore point guard will miss the remainder of the 2002-03 season. Prior to the injury, Battle led the Bulls in scoring (12.7 ppg.), assists (4.5 apg.) and steals (1.9 spg.). He had started every game of his career (50).

"Obviously it's a blow to us," Head Coach Reggie Witherspoon said. "It's a blow for him because he is losing some of his sophomore year. We're really hoping for a speedy, solid, 100 percent recovery for Turner, that's what we're hoping and praying for right now."

Senior Davis Lawrence (Brooklyn, NY/New Utrecht) and freshman Roderick Middleton (University Park, IL/Marian Catholic) will likely split time at the point in place of Battle. Lawrence started 18 games at point guard during the 2000-01 season.

"We just hope our younger guys are prepared to play the minutes," Witherspoon added citing freshmen Calvin Cage (Bowie, MD/Bladensburg) and Mario Jordan (Cleveland, OH/Benedictine).

The Bulls, who are coming off a 90-66 win over Eastern Michigan on Feb. 11, will host Ball State on Saturday night at Alumni Arena. Tipoff is slated for 7 pm.

Good work on researching the BALL ST / BUFFALO game.

I laid a large wager down on BALL ST, got it at -3 at the Palace Station.

I then went to my offshore to check and see if the line had moved (it was -3 there also) and was shocked to see the line had moved DOWN to -2.

What is moving this line in FAVOR of Buffalo? Any thoughts? I know it's early, but there must have been a big wager to come down on BUFFALO to move the number like that, especially in light of the injury. Very strange move.

Nollan - Its been said by some people that the home court in the MAC is more valuable then in any conference in Divsion 1 basketball. I would have to agree.

Buffalo giving 3 to EMU few nights ago tricked the best of us and we all bit. EMU has the talent, as I saw when I was up there when they played Toledo - and also when they were on ESPN+ few games before. But going on the road to a team who hasnt won a conference game all year - shoulda known better. This line movement is a bit odd...but how many people actually know about Turner Battles injury?! Usually Vegasinsider tells ya or you can find it at ESPN or places like that....but I looked everywhere and only found it at Buffalo's Univeristy website. Although Iam sure the linesmakers know...but the public dont know of this injury ;)

But in comes Ball St. This team actually has something to play for. Ball St lead by Chris Williams and Cameron Echols have been playing STELLER basketball as of late. They have a chance to tie or even take 1st place if they continue to play the way they have been...they have CMU twice within the next few weeks. When a team like Ball St beats Kent St (granted it was at home) that just tells you that this team is on another high. Sureeee people talk about "let downs" and things of that nature...but ask yourself this...when your 6-6 in MAC play and you know you have CMU twice coming up and you have a chance to get a buy in the MAC tounry if they win out(bascially).....is their really a "let down" I think its a bit to late in the season to have a let down.

This Davis Lawrence player who will be taking over for Turner Battle...he sucks! When Turner Battle took over the point, Lawrence bascially sat on the bench and lost his starting role. Turner Battle means more to this team just like how TJ Ford means everything to Texas. When a player leads your team in points, assists, and steals....your missing a BIG ol piece of you offense....

Good Luck Nollan ;)
