FCP- What are your thoughts on EMU today? I do not believe that EMU played so well yesterday as much as Buffalo just fell in love with shooting the long ball and stopped running sets and then the missed FT's.
Is this par for the course for EMU. Do they make you get out of your routine? Do they make you play differently or was Buffalo caught looking a head.. maybe?

I have watched Toledo a few times and they seem VERY athletic but they also seem to have a lack of discipline. So, if a team like EMU can force you to do things they may be able to exploit a team like Toledo who lacks discipline?

Am I way off on how these teams operate? Just looking for some discussion

No, your take is pretty good . Buffalo pretty much played right into EMU'S hands last night. EMU is one of two teams in the conference that zone and they have the size to really clog up the paint. Still, Buff had the conference' player of the year, McCrea, and I didn't understand them not giving him the ball and at least getting trying to get Riley in foul trouble and get to the ft stripe. He got his shots in but they were not great looks and he became a non factor. But EMU wants to make you beat them from outside. When the shots are not falling they can make you look pretty bad.

Toledo is athletic, they have several guys that can score from anywhere including their center,Booth who can step out and shoot it. The thing about the Rockets is that they can't guard a rock and can make even a sub par offense like EMU look pretty potent. EMU shot the 3 very well last night but despite the Toledo D I don't expect them to do that again. Its just not in their DNA to do so.

When these two played at EMU the Eagles won because the Rockets couldn't throw it in the ocean. I saw the game and can't recall what% they shot but it was abysmal and not likely to occur again. Toledo goes as their pg Juice Brown goes. If he has a decent game and the Rockets can shoot around 45% they should get the cover

Does it seem like FT shooting percentages are way down? Or am I just noticing because I am losing a lot of close games?

FT's and refs... uggh
