Buffalo +9 over Iona ******
Buffalo ML +335 **
Like the Bulls here tonite in New Rochelle.Iona has won 9 of last 10 or something close to that. Before and after losing to Peter in the MAAC finals they have beaten everyone by a lot of points.Beat Valpo by 8,Rider by 24,Siena by 30,etc...Glover is the best big man in the MAAC avg 18 pts and 10 bds.Machado has over 254 assists and is 3rd in the nation. But Smyth their top outside shooter got hurt in the Peter game and he won't play tonite. If you watched the Peter-Iona game you could see Peter pack the zone.
Bulls have one of the best 3 pt shooters in the country in Filzen avg 17 pts a game and Mulkey his partner avg 13 pts a game.McCrea is a 6'6 fds who can score and rebound. But 6'10 Watts is a force in the paint esp. on defense.Throw in 6'7 Robinson and 6'8 Alston and that gives the Bulls a big advantage in the paint.Iona is not used to seeing all this size and depth. The Bulls are 11th in the country in blocked shots...I think Glover will have a tough time vs the front line...Machado is a great pt gd and can penetrate but I think the Bulls defense will contain him...w/o Smyth Iona loses its top outside scorer...plus the Bulls defense is better. They are on of the better teams forcing turnovers...I have this game at Iona -3 or -4....Watts will be on Glover and if he stays out of foul trouble Iona could actually lose this game.Buffalo beat Niagara and Can by 20. Just lost to Kent by 3 away.Kent just beat Fairfield..It's MAC vs MAAC...

Be back for a few womans games...

Texas AM -13.5 over Rutgers ******
Love this game...TAM was 27-5 with 3 losses to Baylor. They are quick and athletic and I can't say this will be the 2nd best team they see this year because it is the 2nd best.RU played UConn already but they played AM at Madison Sq. Garden back in Dec. And the Aggies destroyed RU 79-50.RU had 27 turnovers and couldn't fast break or attack a half court offense..AM leads the nation in turn over margin so the 27 turnovers was no fluke.AM plays aggressive man/man and their defense creates their offense. RU gds are average and will have a tough time protecting the ball.Aggies are 7th in the nation in scoring...RU lost a lot of players, some transferred and they are a decent BE team. But they will have big time trouble scoring tonite and the Aggies should win this by 20-25.Last time they were in Rutgers backyard.Tonite in Shrevport their in Aggies backyard..

Two strong plays tonite...Buffalo and AM

line dropped to Texas AM -11.5 wow..*******
love it more....

hey, excuse me if you guys took this the wrong way. Box knows that I think he's one of the best cappers on here and would never question his assessment of a game...I also know he's spoken highly of Iona before and i was just pointing out the unfortunate outcome that the kid had an incredible night. Nights like that can't be anticipated. Sorry if you guys tailed him and lost money....hopefully you more than made up for it on his Texas A&M women's bball pick...

keep up the great work Box...i mean to no offense

My bad about the Buffalo play...recapping the game a little...Oliver I didn't expect Jenkins to go off but I didn't expect Bulls McCrea to get 25....Glover who really should of beaten Rossister for POY in the MAAC did what I thought. He had trouble vs the Bulls size and scored 8 pts and got 4 bds.Iona packed the zone and Bulls offense couldn't shoot.Bulls also had 20 turnovers and Iona got 13 steals....that's a lot of steals. With that stat I'm amazed that the game was close until the last 10 minutes...but the key factor was what Witherspoon the Bulls coach said.." fatigue was a factor" The Bulls were playing their 4tht straight away game,3 in the last 7 days...that's one factor I over looked...he said his team was tired...anyway back to the drawing board..sorry for anyone that followed that play...
I had a great time in Vegas..did really good out there...what a place to be the 1st weekend of the tourney.
