I wouldn't take the action solely on your dime.
I'd hedge if possible or deposit into an offshore like others suggested.
I was booking bets thru my guy for a friend and forgot to include bet that turned out to be a winner. I ate that game and then decided I would take his action hoping it would even out, and the all of a sudden he's on like a 7-1 hot streak and I'm out a $1500.
I've also had a situation where I was betting with a buddy thru a friend's guy (my friend is a degenerate gambler/poker player...who we tell has a problem but he doesn't care) anyway...we killed in the last NCAA tourney hitting like 70% and won like $1200. Turned out he was booking the action with his bookie, but then decided to take the action himself without our knowledge. Pay day comes around for us and we think we're getting the money and he then admits to us he is broke and can't pay us and he took all the action. He's now unemployed and I still haven't seen the money.
That was it for me when it came to being friends with that guy. He puts gambling above the friendship and that's just not right.
Anyways....point being....unless you're totally willing and prepared to book the action, don't do it because it never turns out well in the end.
