Great idea, JT.

In Glavine's last 11 starts, he has permitted more than two earned runs only once. The two-time Cy Young Award winner is 8-3 on the road this season with a 4.09 earned run average, spanning 14 outings.

Lifetime, Glavine is 16-12 versus San Francisco with a 3.63 ERA. He will be facing the Giants for the first time this year.

Schmidt will also be facing Atl for the 1st time this season. As Teddy pointed out, he's less than stellar against the Braves in his career, his ERA is obscenely over 5.9

I've got 2 possible picks for tonite's game, maybe even a hedge.

Braves-110 -- A surging team on a roll just in time for the playoff run, a hot pitcher on the mound who's been as good as anyone in baseball the last 2 months.

Over8.5 -- insurance policy

I figure if Glavine gets rocked, 8.5 is low enough that the total will go over. Plus I think MadJack's on it. Can't beat that

I know willinreign beat me to the punch on this post (great job) but if we are going to hammer this game I am sure we will post the information more than once.

Also try to add what you think of the information you have added.

For example when going over how the hitters hit the starters I noticed that it would not be a surprise to see JT snow sit as the big cat could fill in here. Also I would not be surprised if Dusty works Eric Davis into the lineup and even if he doesn't the giants will have a bat on the bench that hits Glavine well.

It is unlikely that the braves will sit Andruw Jones has he is hard to replce defensively so the braves have a weak bat that will most likely be in the heart of the lineup.

EDGE: Giants

Also something to look at here is that overall both teams hit well in this situation so the Over could come into play, as the posted number is low at 8.5.

Finally after we have compiled all of the numbers and agree on a selection, we should try to find the book with the best price, if you have more than one.

Extra incentive for Schmidt?

We all know the giants and the braves are deep in the penant chase and both need to win tonight, something that may become more apparent as they watch the afternoon games. The braves already have seen philly lose, and the giants have to be watching LA and arizona and they are both currently losing.

However it may be schmidt who has just a bit more motivation for this game...
