You need to list EVERYTHING. Folks dont want to see any holes in time as they wonder what you did at that time--also
make sure you list the time you spent as Dallas Cowboys head coach, and if you spent anytime as the acting pope like I did.

Agree with the one page thing, but what do you do when your list of accomplishments and skills is so long it requires more than one page?
OR,
Is it acceptable to have multiple versions of your resume floating around with the emphasis on the different skill sets for the job you are looking at?

If they ask about the college, tell them that you were working full time and going to school part time. They will understand that.

Always have a full blown resume available in case that you need it. But always have multiple versions. If you are keying into one industry try sending them out 10 at a time. Then get the next resume ready, make changes, and send it out again.

I would defer to dogface as the expert here, but just wanted to add that 'Monster.Com" helped me a few years back w/my resume and the interviews, etc. Not trying to be a tout, but this site had a lot of free info and answered a lot of questions for me. Haven't been there in 4 years so don't think things have changed-just adding my 2 cents.
P.S.- This board can really be helpful regarding certain topics. GL2ALL

Chanman, I second them as well...

Actually typing "resume" in the search engines will get you some valuable samples, as well as understanding hte 3-5 different templates that MS word has to offer...

The only problem with them is that they all begin to look alike after awhile...

Also people need to know if a computer will be scanning the resume's are looked at by people...larger companies do the scanning and only pick out the resumes for their files that have the key words they are looking for, great reason for different resumes for diffeerent areas or specialties....

What do you want to do? Usually it is a good idea to have an "objective" at the top of the resume like, "Professional gambler seeking head linesmaker position to work alongside Henry at Pinnacle." Then whatever you put on the resume, be it education, job experience, references, etc., would be pointed towards that objective. If you are applying to be a head linesmaker at Pinnacle, you would talk about your years of experience managing others, working in finance, etc.
