2000 Podium:
Schumacher - Coulthard - Barrichello
The first results of yesterday's 2 practices show some nice surprise like Trulli with the best time so far. Second to sixth are Schum-Barrichello-Coulthard-Irvine (???) and Hakkinen. Trulli and Irvine are impressive. They had good results too (3rd and 5th) at the first practice. We will have to see this evening where these people stands at the end of the last practice before qualification (around 10h15 pm eastern time).
The story in Malaysia is whether or not we will see Schumacher winning his sixth consecutive race. An exploit that nobody hasn't seen since 1952-1953 when the italian Alberto Ascari won nine consecutives race. The best odds i've seen so far is Schum at 10 to 11 to win that race but with that line, it is a sure NO PLAY for me.
I have concern this weekend about weather 'cause rain is on the forecast for the qualification and for the race and it can affect a lot the way the race will go. In addition, the temperature is extremely warm and humid at this time of the year and mechanics will be hard test. So far Minardi cars had problems in Sepang as for the Williams BMW of Montoya. Don't be surprise to see a lot of cars not finishing that race!
At the moment, i see no match ups line with OLY and GCS so i have to wait and see. If rains is there, drivers like Schum,Trulli and Alesi are outstanding on wet conditions so for a qualifying match ups, i would put $$$ on them vs anybody. This Grand Prix will be hard to handicap because of the weather so the best thing to do i think is to wait until this evening to see how the last practice went and if there's rain.
The lines at Oly should be up soon but i won't be able to make any comment until this evening 'cause i'll be leaving for the whole day.
