A nice one!

Congratulations to M. Schumacher for his sixth consecutives win! What a race! When the rain came down, the grid was completely "wild" and the decision of Ferrari to use intermediate tires instead of the wet one gave them the advantage and they built a huge lead that nobody could catch. Another strategic good move by Ferrari!

Here's the recap of our picks :

Qualifying match ups results:

2-1 +2 units

YTD 13-2 +15 units

It hasn't been a huge weekend like the one in Australia but i'll take a 66% of winning anytime i can!!!

As i wrote during the Australian Grand Prix, my target for this season is to obtain, at least, 60% of winning picks and like this we will all cash in and make profits. I am aware i am well over that % right now and that a letdown is expected (the balance isn't always on the same side!) but i can promise you that i'll do the best that i can to make these bad weekend rare!!!

The next Grand Prix is in 2 weeks at Interlagos circuits in Brazil.

Hope everyone enjoyed!

1838? No way!!!!!!! You're funny DJV

As you wrote, maybe we are just a small group
who bet in race cars (outlaws?) but if we can all make cash? What is wrong with that?

I've loss my as$$ too in hoops tournament so far so i've decided to stop it completely and bet only in race cars, in rugby with "Anders the Great" and in golf match ups where guys like Stanley and Dogs That Bark are great cappers and we can learn from them. It isn't because our "sports wagering" are unlike or unpopular that we can't make $$ hum? Our $ is as good here than in hoops!

Thanks for all of your encouragment, it makes me work harder next time!

The outlaws are there to stay!!!!!!

Hey ya'll

I've been testing a hypothesis of mine. It is that one can start with a small initial investment and with careful conservative play ONE can make a lot of money.

So far... I'm still working on proving this theory of mine. But you know what? I've won more plays than lost. I started this in September knowing nothing about money management. I would get my balance up.. get all excited.. make a few big plays and then be back to square one.

I bet the farm on a Lakers game.. Money line.. suckers only had to win by ONE point against they Miami Heat. Why didn't someone tell me that Shaq could hit damned free throws? That lesson cost me over 300 dollars... Shiiiiiiit

So now I'm much more conservative with my play and was doing pretty well until the basketball playoffs. I got creamed anyway.. Even with conservative play.

I am enjoying the hell out of playing the golf and Nascar stuff. And I too, have been following Anders. I'm about even with my rugby plays.

This stuff seems so much more intellectual than NBA or NCAA basketball. Where...from one day to the next... is a crap shoot.

WEll.. I guess this stuff is too. But I'm having fun.

Question:

I have a whole LIBRARY of books. But I have only read half of them!

So does that make me an intellectual or a pseudo-intellectual?

I'm a doctor, too. But never said I was smart.. I tried to make money playing those NCAA playoffs didn't I. What a dumbass.

Best of luck to us all!

Make your bucks on what ever. We have been cooking here. Can we get stung. Yes. AZ, you said it right. Watch how you manage those bucks. I did hit a little with Anders to. Im for chit on buckets. I tagged along with a couple of the other boys and won some. I stayed out of the tourney. Sounds like it may have been right thing to do. But that was just luck. I thanked them and moved on. This Nascar and F 1 just seem right place to try. Had a bud that swore by it. So far he is right. Sorry you can not call be doctor. I go by Hey You, Dad, and Grandpa. Getting old ant all bad.

DTB, Thanks my friend. I'm trying to do the best i can in F1, sports i've been following for 20 years and so far things look good but i don't want to jinx myself!
wink.gif
I'm having the same feeling you have in racing towards my golf match ups. I sometimes feel like i'm a pain in the ass
tongue.gif
for you or Stan, the golf experts, because of all the opinions i'm asking but at the same time, i think i'm asking opinions others would ask but don't dare to do it. Anyhow...

What i'm seeing right now in this great forum is that everyone is like an "expert" on a specific sports and we all take profit of the knowledge of everyone wich make us quite a strong group don't you think
smile.gif
I love being here will all you guys!

Hey Anders! I'm fed up of praying St-Patrick (my first name is Patrick) or any other saints to protect my buddy down under from the devil outa space!!!
tongue.gif
Will it be possible for you to give us any life signal after friday? I don't wanna lose the rugby expert!

Cheers!

Hey djv!

One of my favorite bumper stickers of all time was on an old beat up white Ford Maverick with tobacco stains down the left driver's side. This was in Houston.

"Old Age And Treachery Will Overcome Youth And Skill"

There's a lot to say about "old geezers". They are walking history books and yes, some of 'em are MEAN as hell!

Years ago I was treating an old man who was an MIT graduate (something like the class of '03 or 1913) who had been in France the day the armistice was signed following World War One. He has some fascinating stories to tell!

In June I will have been practicing for 20 years. I always try to take a little extra time with the older patients. Especially the ones that are getting a bit tottery and senile. My hope is that when I get that old someone will treat me with patience and compassion just like I have done all my professional life.

I joke with my wife, Kathy, who helps me in the office that all my girlfriends are over 70 years old! lol

One 100 year old little old lady comes in walking with a walker and accompanied by a care-giver. She BITCHES non-stop from the moment she crosses the threshhold in to the office. She never lets up and bitches right on out the door. I have been tempted a number of times to follow her out to her car to see if this is just a constant thing or if this is just for me! I'm happy to see her arrive and just as happy to see her depart! hehe

As far as all this sports wagering. I'm really new to this stuff. I am still trying to prove a theory that one can start with a small initial investment and with good money management, luck, and skill that you can make a considerable amount of money. So far I haven't spent a fortune but I haven't made a lot of money either. I tend to win more games than lose but get carried away and bet too much money on occasional games which brings my balance down.

I am very intriigued with this Nascar stuff and with the golf. And am totally fed up with NCAA basketball. Whoa!

Best of luck to you and the rest of the gang here.

AZ, I know alittle about those old folks. My Grandpa made it to 96 and Grandma 95. My Mom is 82. I guess that all will help me get by 65 some day. But Grandma. Well she started bitchen about 85 and never stopped. It was funny in many ways, cause she would say the dam-est things. My Grandpa always said just let it in one ear and out the other. Just had the yearly today. Im lucky guy, all runn-en good was the news, psa and all. This capping stuff been at it long time. At least on the Football side, and Baseball. Started Nascar late last year. It worked. So will try the season. Have to stay on the ball. Baseball can take time. But Nascar I have been following for some time. Just never tryed it for money. You start to know real fast who the leaders are going to be. The practice sessions are what I pay attention to. Those cars are race set up when practicing. Also certin drivers will let it rip at the fast tracks. Others will run good but be back in the pack. The late D E never let speed bother him. J Gordon has some of that in him. Starting to look like Park and Jr have same. Marlin same thing. There are a few more. But they must have the good car under them. Some may be better then they show. There team in total is a little week and it shows on the track. If there improveing it will satrt to show in practice and a few top 10's. We will be watching. Well enough said. Hope we find some good pickens this weekend.

Thanks for the reply djv.

I am still very new to all this handicapping. I have learned quite a few hard and rather expensive lessons since I started doing this back during the baseball play-offs last year.

My new motto is "steady as she goes". I am going to just try to stay conservative, not get too excited and try to stay alive. I'm about a thou down.. maybe two since starting to do this. If I can bring it back to at least break even or make a little bit I will be very happy.

I still don't have a clue about handicapping. But I continue to read many posts on several boards and am getting some ideas about how it works. I did very well in baseball. Not so great in football and seemed to have lost my ass somewhere in the last few weeks of college basketball. Still looking for it... it's gotta be around here somewhere.

I look forward to reading your commentary and altho I may not have much to contribute directly.. since I read SO much different stuff.. when I find something that looks like it may be of interest to the forum I will be happy to share it with everyone.

Thanks

AzRusty

Hang in there. This place is about help. It does not say anyplace you can not join if you do not handicap. You may add to other items in the general section. You may help someone with a answer that has yet to be asked. The top folks that have been here a long time. Well if they do well for everyone that may follow them. There just happy they were able to help. Lets hope we have some more Nascar Luck this week.
