I may be bashed here for being a pansy for this request, but I wish that there was no nudity allowed on the avatars. When I'm cruising through the site with my 3 year old in my lap, it's a little disruptive.

I purposely stay out of threads where I feel there is danger during these times, but the avatars are unavoidable.

Here's my man card. You can have it.

User Cp + Edit Options then look about half way down in the center there is an option to remove avatar visibility.

Well, I like most people's avatars because I think it adds to personality.

Just a thought...

But if I'm in the minority (or just on the other side of the decision) then I will use that suggestion.

Thanks, Jack.

Another thought, how about a icon that shows content isn't family or work friendly????

Have had this happen a few times when opening threads.......

Yeah, maybe Jack can hire somebody full-time, no, 24/7, to monitor every single post made in every single thread on the forum so the 'icon' can be updated as needed.

Thanks Kosar,

Or if someone wants to give other members a heads up about whether to open the thread in mixed company they could do it themself.......But your idea makes much more sence...

Yeah, because threads *never* take a turn for the 'worse', after the initial post.

Also, most people who start a thread that might be 'like that', say that in the thread headline. 'NSFW' and such. But there are plenty that turn in that direction well after it's started. Who would you have monitoring every post?

I don't know who or what it could hurt to make the forum a little easier for the folks who have to raise children..keep a wife or girlfriend happy...or make sure the grandparents are not peeking around the corner.

We give congrats to those who bring children into the world..we should at least understand there are times when daddy or mommy has to combine a "Me" time along w/ the "Daddy can I sit on your lap"....or .."Daddy I want to look to."

In this day in age where we can hit a keystroke and watch any and all human behavior a little help to those who have "curtain climbers" and "rugrats" can't be that difficult.

And certainly shouldn't be considered trite.

just saying.....

Didn't say it was perfect Kosar. It was a "suggestion". These "ideas" are helpful to web site bizz owners in running their site.
Without members signing on to their sites and feeling comfortable opening said threads they could loose adverting $$$$$.

See sites like these supports themselves by having advertisers spending $$$$ to promote their products. Some advertisers actually like to know how many "hits" (# of time people visit) these sites get. If memebers of a site like, say MadJacks, wont sign on because of contect provided by some members it could cause an adverse effect to their income.

I realize these are alot of tech terms that probably mean nothing to you, but too some they just might.....Because it's how they make their living....

But your a smart fella, you probably already knew this........So, then what was it you said Kosar?

That was one of the more illiterate posts that i've seen this side of of The Sponge. (Just an aside here) BRING BACK THE SPONGE!

Speaking to your point (sic)? Yes, i'm aware of how portals generate revenue.

I just don't think having somebody monitoring every thread and every post and changing the 'icon' as such is the answer.

I *do* think that you made an admirable 'suggestion.'
