Rick,
I think that is just the way I am holding her as she was a pig and pretty fat. I caught another one right behind her that was just short of ten and both were caught in the early part of December if I recall and that was in Lake Benbrook in Benbrook Texas. Small lake and extremely dangerous to run as there is a lot of shit just under the surface. They both bit a 3/4 oz. custom football head jig from a guy in Okmulgee Ok. that makes them for me. Both were in about 28 foot of water on a ledge that fell off into 49 feet.
Scott,
I guess you can get some sponsors that way but not the way you want to try as fish that big are very hard to find and his fame will be very fleeting. Someone isn't going to pay $3000 or more to get my boat wrapped if people aren't seeing it at the weigh-ins all across the nation. With my truck and boat wrapped and as many miles as are put on it in a normal season from coast to coast to Mexico it will be seen by hundreds of thousands of people yearly and is a extremely effective form of advertisement. Actually I don't understand why Jack hasn't asked to get on my wrap yet as it would definitely add to his bottom line. Cash sponsors are still the hardest to find and none of them will waist any time with him. He will probably get a call from Shimano and offer him a reel but that is it.
Andy,
I knocked out about 14 pounds of that stuff man. I couldn't move. I don't think I have eaten any crab since. I am looking into something down here for our next get together and the first question is always "Do you have a buffet and a casino and if so does the buffet include Crab legs?" LOL
Hope this helps,
FDC
