Really Really good deal for the dodgers. With Dewitt as the future, and Blake the now, LaRoche was going nowhere in the organization. They needed a bat and got it. Colletti has done 3 blockbuster deals as a gm. Jason Schmitt who has pitched like 3 innings in 2 years.....Andrew Jones who is getting over 1 million dollars and RBI.....and now this. He can save his job one more year if Manny can get them past the D Backs and into October. As a fan I'm excited that they actually did something. But I'm also a realist and realize that he better be Manny or it isn't enough.

Manny is going to do just fine in my opinion the best dam hitter in baseball.

It was steinbrenner who always had the policy.....not Torre.

And the dodgers don't care.

Just think, Manny and Nomar can sit around and talk about they were mistreated by the Red Sox. Torre will get the most out of Manny, I think. This just might be enough to put them over the top. I would be happy too if I was in LA.

I think the pirates got a pretty good deal with all those prospects, most of them were big prospects not just C+ ones, it wasnt that bad for the dodgers since they couldnt fit laroche but still its a 2 month rental that will sure make them better, but is not that much of a steal as some people might say.

Manny,great player,with a @#$# up personality.
Likely just a for rest of season signing,unless they pick up his option for 20mill.

You guys will like him.Toward the end he really got almost manic.The episode with Youk.,attacking the 60 something press secaytary,worrying about his contract,instead of playing ball.If you can deal with his BS you guys should be all set.
