Just days after its first win of the season, the Marist College men?s basketball team will play on national television today when the Red Foxes open up a three-game stint at the Old Spice Classic tournament. The Red Foxes (1-2) play the West Virginia Mountaineers (0-1) at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at the Walt Disney World resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. The game will give the Red Foxes wide exposure, with the noon tip-off being televised on ESPN2.
Marist head coach Chuck Martin, now in his fifth year, said today?s game will give the team a chance to display the improvement it has made since he took the job.

?A lot of people will be watching,? Martin said, ?so it?s a tremendous opportunity for us to show people ? in the community and around the country ? that we?ve turned the corner.?
After a pair of season-opening losses, Marist earned its first win on Saturday, a 67-62 victory at Columbia. That victory matched the Red Foxes? earliest win to begin a season under Martin; they also won their third game in 2008-09, Martin?s first season.

Senior shooting guard Devin Price leads Marist in scoring, averaging 14.3 points per game. Junior center Adam Kemp is averaging a double-double (11.0 points per game, 10.0 rebounds) and sophomore swingman Chavaughn Lewis is averaging 10.3 points per game.

West Virginia comes in rested, having played its lone game this season 10 days ago.

The Mountaineers fell to then-No. 19 Gonzaga, 80-54, on Nov. 12. Junior center Aaric Murray scored a team-high 14 points, and no other player scored in double digits for West Virginia, which finished last season with a 19-14 record, earning an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament.
