this comes from a friend of mine who is among a group of boosters in Lincoln--pretty solid guy, and he has had info like this in the past before it is announced--says Mariucci will take it on Tuesday, being accompanied in the move by Tom Rathman, the former Husker fullback and current Lions assistant;) i guess we will see tomorrow:D

I think that would be great news

I think that would be great news

Great news, if its true. Nebraska football needs to get back to where they were in the 90's being one of the most dominating teams in College football.....

Mariucci could bring them there, I'm just not sure if he would want to take the step down from pro to college????

I don't think Mooch is going to flake out on the Lions after one year and that big contract. All though, Millen is a jagoff, so it's possible. That would be hilarious if he left...

I have heard the same rumor and certainly hope it is true! I also heard they are trying to keep Pelini as Def. Coordinator and if he turns it down they are trying to convince Monte Kiffin to come back and get the program back on track. I can't imagine he would come here as the def. coor. though. My source also said that Tom Izzo (mich. state BB coach) has been trying to persuade Mariucci back to the college ranks and has played an important role in all of this.

Hope this proves correct as it would be a major boost to the cornhusker program. Would be suprised to see mucc leave detroit also after only one year but I guess time will tell.

Mariucci better bring plenty of hair dye with him because he's gonna get a lotta gray hair if he coaches the Huskers.....

Bring a real good air conditioner also 'cuz it gets real sticky here in the summertime.....

My personal opinion.... Marriucci isn't going to leave the pro's for Nebraska. The NFL is the pinnacle of football, so it doesn't make sense to me that someone who's succeeded at that level, yet hasn't acheived the ultimate (Super Bowl) would give up on trying to get that ring.

Agreed that Millen is a tard, but aren't those two old buddies or something? Isn't that how Mooch got that job without having to interview? IMO Marriucci won't leave the NFL for a college gig.

Time will certainly tell though.

did not mean to portray this as fact, only what i had heard from some boosters--sorry if i insulted anyone's intelligence by posting something interesting that would produce a reaction.

Parcells to coach W. Kentucky next year.

Heard this from a reliable source.

Don't bust my balls. I'm not responsible for what I hear or for anything that I post.:D

Contrary to what many think, I am not so sure you wouldn't be stirring up a bees nest bringing Mooch in at Huskerville. The players have made it abundantly clear who it is they want as coach and backed it up with an easy win over Mich St. It is true that the players shouldn't call the shots nor should any administration allow it - but it wouldn't be the first time it happened.
