MARLINS/PHILLIES Under 8.5 +100 - With Burnett and Beckett sidelined by injuries, Penny is the current ace of the Marlins staff. He has recorded 5 Quality Starts in his last 6 starts, and if we disregard his one poor outing at San Diego, he has an impressive 1.85 ERA and an exceptional WHIP of 0.85 in the other 5 starts. He has also allowed 3 runs or less in 6 of his 8 career starts vs. the Phillies. He catches Philadelphia at the right time, as they have lost 9 of their last 10 games while hitting a very mediocre .245 vs. right-handed pitchers during those games. Similarly, Myers? one bad start vs. the Mets last time out skews his recent stats. However, he entered that contest with a 3.51 ERA and a 1.32 WHIP in his first 8 Major League starts, displaying excellent poise on the mound for such a youngster. Remember also that he had faced the Mets in his prior start, so they were far more familiar with Myers than this Florida team that has never faced him.
