Marq has failed to cover in their first two games, pushing against the opening 2 vs butler.to me this means watch out ,they will play over their heads, somehow, someway against this formidable opponent.I also feel miami will only cover one of two this upcoming weekend and it will b in the second game,to go to the final 4.i may b wrong of course, but I dont look for miami to play their sharpest vs marq, and i look for marquette to play a lot better than they normally do.

Miami is way more athletic than Marquette. Miami will look to push the tempo as Marq would love nothing more than a game in the 50's-60's. Miami has outstanding D as Thunder said and I think Marq is out of this game by the 15 min mark of the 1st Half.

I want to clarify: I have not bet Marq, but I will not bet against a team that failed to cover in the first round (Indiana failed to cover both games last weekend. ) I have been capping for 30+ yrs and watching this tourney since uclas first title lead by walt hazzard. Seen teams that coast thru that first weekend come out on fire for the rest of the tourney.marq may not b good as Indy of course, but if i had money on miami i would spooked by the fact that marq has advanced and not played better than oddsmakers expectations the first two games miami has been watching too and just might not save their #1 effort for a team everyone thinks they will beat easily.

That's because Johnson was ruled out
That's what she said!! OH!

Why would a line drop when 75% opened bets on Miami and jumped to 82% yet the line dropped? If you drop the line cuz "Reggie" is out, there is more to it than just him being out.

Tough line on that game - dogs love the Sweet 16 baby!!

GL with your play!

I don't pay attention to line moves half as much as I do during regular season. The line moves in these tourneys have been awful. There is MUCH more public money moving lines, and the syndicates don't even typically do well this time of year. They don't have the advantage they have in the long, boring grind of the regular season.

I don't agree with this. They laid a 3 on Marquette vs a 14 seed! I think they expected them to lose. Then they laid 1.5 vs the 6. They pretty much expected them to lose again.

I think 5.5 was a completely standard, fair line for this game.

Miami definitely getting a lot of love. I just don't think that matters that much this time of year. These kids don't wake up and play differently based on the betting splits.

You may be right on Marquette here, just pointing out these things for discussion and value added to the conversation. Take it for what it's worth.

Great call baby johson.jord - i never said they played differently consciously due to not covering.what i AM saying is that a team that wins and doesnt cover a couple of times to start is often going to bust out with a better than expected(better than the number) effort if they r a team with good players.Indiana beliedvthis going 0-2 the first weekend and losing,so its not a hard and fast rule.only one team ever had the same side and total results for all six games since ive been tracking the madness (30+ yrs).florida covered and went over all six their repeat yr,but they were extra talented compared to their competition.amyway jord, thats my explanation for the marquette stunning victory.whats yours?
