Well the game could of went either way today. The reason I am saying please read is I want to know if you thought the same thing I did. If we get a stop on that 4th down play we probably have a 90% chance of covering. Now I am sitting at my sisters house watching the game and am just absolutely stunned that any defense coordinator in there right mind would only rush three guys with a two point lead and the game on the line. If you stop them u win the games. Instead u rush three fuking people. I was so pissed by that call I got the telephone and called my brother, friend, and dad. They were not watching the game and I gave them the scenario and they all said the same thing. U got to bring people and force a quick throw. If u get beat for td u still have plenty of time to score. The thing is u force a quick throw u know on 4th and 4 they are probably not going to go deep. I am not saying by bringing people they would not have completed the pass and still lost the game just can not understand how any football coach can rush three guys with basically the game hinging on that play. They still may have not covered but damn how do these coaches get a job.

Before that play they had the QB spooked. A little pressure would have been nice.

I agree with AR...you play a game to win.

It's the same in bases..lefty ,righty, pinch hitter WTF...You pay a ballplayer $5 Mil a year hit or pitch the freaking ball

Same scenario here ,they were hoping that he would miss the FG...should not have boiled down to that play...yeah I'm pissed also...that 3rd down first down when the QB was running around like a chicken with his head cut off was the backbreaker

I know what your saying, and not saying your wrong. But, if they rush 3, then they have 8 guys back in coverage. Thats tough to throw into.
It can be a tough call. If they blitz and the blitz gets picked up, then you end up with single coverage somewhere.
Personally, I do agree that I usually like pressure. Just get burned that way sometimes too.

Even if they stop them on 4th down, there are not covering... ML would have won though. There was 2:12 left and UCF had 1 time out. clock starts on change of possesion, therefore, UCF would have had to take their timeout right after 4th down was missed
2:12 run (lets say) 8 second play... turnover on downs. time out Mar
2:04 Marshall runs on 1st . 5 second play 25 second clock
1:34 marshall runs on 2nd down 5 second play 25 second clock
1:04 mashall runs on 3rd down 5 second play 25 second clock
.34 marshall runs on 4th down 5 seconds

best case scanerio this leaves about .25 left on the clock. And this is assuming no time is lost spotting the ball or any of that other stuff. Last week USF burned over 2 minutes and only ran 3 plays.

No way the kick the FG with their kicker, they would have made UCF go the entire field in .20 rather than risk a block

IMO its the worst call in football...I just don't know why coaches want to allow the QB to sit in the pocket and pick apart the defense...I've always believed in the philosophy of pressure on the QB creates turnovers...

On a second note...I've quit playing these weeknight games...they've just been too hard for me to cap...other then Tuesday night I think most of the covers have been by the dog...I'll look it up tonight after work and I'll post what I find...but lately it seems like the weeknight dog is the play...

Any thoughts guys?
