Each week I like to take some round robin parlays from baseball early in week with big favs and some RLines and add a CFG game or two to have a big opportunity on Saturday. Last week it was Arkansas and Alabama which was very profitable as Arkansas hit. This week it is Air Force and your Maryland Over. I got 72 as my out didn't release totals until yesterday. I like this and wish you luck!!

Your Arkansas boys look pretty good Tommy and I have had them the last couple weeks. I still like the 72 number. Tough to gauge SMU but they score some points. Only team they failed to score against LY was Cincy and they had a great pass defense. They gave up 44 to Houston, 55 to UCF and 48 to Cincy last year and MD's offense is likely better than all of them. Weather also look perfect so I am expecting a shootout.

Maryland vs SMU

I said this at the very beginning of the season and will reiterate it now. This is a very big game for Maryland. Not a conference game, but this is a competitive non-conference game, at night, and on national TV. In my opinion this is a huge game for this program. It is also big for the season bet of Ov 5.5 wins, because if they lose this one, they are in trouble with a brutal conference schedule coming up. They have to prove they can win this type of game, especially ahead of a trip to Ann Arbor. Locksley has been preaching all week that the students need to fill "The Shell". It will be interesting to see if they can pack the stadium and create a great atmosphere for this game. For me, this game is big because I want to see if the coaching staff can get this team up for this game. I still have my doubts about Locksley and this staff. They can recruit and get players to like them, but I have yet to see them get the players ready to do what they have to do. I know that sounds a bit stupid, but Maryland has a history of let downs in game they should win, and for me, that is about coaching.

Every way I look at this game I see points. Both teams have explosive offenses and both teams have issues on defense. MD has a couple injuries in the defensive secondary which is why I think we have seen the total jump up to 73 and the line drop to MD -2.5. SMU has a very good quarterback in Mordecai and a great WR in Rice. Maryland is going to be forced to play freshman in the secondary so I expect them to make mistakes, which includes penalties. They love to play man to man, but I do not think they are going to be able to do this tomorrow night. I think both defenses are going to have a bend but don't break mentality. Stops will be huge as will forcing FGs. Turnovers, obviously, will be a big deal. With a total of 73 you need a lot of perfection for that to go over, so both QBs will have to be great.

SMU's passing defense was really bad last year. It has looked fine this year, but they have not played anyone yet. If Lia is on, I do not think they will be able to stop this Maryland offense. The Charlotte game last week may have given them the confidence they need. I also think you are going to see some offensive sets and tempo from Maryland that you have not seen yet. They have been holding back the 4 WR sets as well as the up tempo offense, so I have to think we see it this week.

I would love to take MD in this game, but I have some concerns about their ability to stop the passing game, so I still believe the Over is the better play. I really liked it at 69 where I played it and still like it at 73. I think a bunch of turnovers or fgs is the only thing that could keep this game from going over. I think we see a marathon game with a lot of action. I am gong to say 42-38 Maryland, but would not be surprised if SMU won.

This line is not moving at all. My guess is that it is heavily influenced by the fact that Michigan has played no one. I mean I am not sure a top 5 ranked team has ever played a worst opening schedule and been ranked this high. My play is simply based on the fact that MD has to prove that can play in these games. Michigan has owned them and they have not come within 21 points in 7 years. Maryland has the talent on offense to stay in this game. However, their offense has not clicked like I thought it would. Lia has been hesitant to throw the ball down field and the receivers are not getting the separation I anticipated. I do not see how this gets easier this week. Maryland will have to play a perfect game to stay in it and I simply do not think they can do this for 4 quarters. If they get down big early this game could get ugly, but I do think MD can hang for a while, but will not be able to do it the whole game. They are a very undisciplined team, and while Locksley continues to talk about getting this fixed, it has yet to be seen. I say MD keeps it close for a while and then Michigan gets a couple key turnovers and pulls away.

Michigan 47-20.

It has now gone up to Michigan (-17.0) at Pinnacle (a reputably "sharp" book) with the line slightly juiced to Michigan at this time.

It looks like you may have got the best of the number. Good luck! :0074

Just have not gotten into a groove with this team, so you may want to stay away.

They played well last week, but Michigan was not nearly as good as I thought they were. MD could have won that game but had some bad miscues and some bad interceptions that really were not interceptions. Big Ten officials embarrassed themselves in that game.

Now, Michigan State looks bad, Maryland did better than people thought, so we got Maryland favored by 8 (line right now) in a game where I thought it would be 3 at best. As such, I played

Michigan State +10 -124 ( I always post exactly where I played it at. This was played yesterday when the line was 9)

Like it at +7.5 or better.

First time MD has been a solid home favorite over a good program. I know Michigan State is struggling, but just not sure MD should be this big of a favorite. The X factor in this game is the weather. It is supposed to suck. Could be pouring down rain with wind at kickoff. This should prove to be tough conditions for both teams so it should factor into a closer game.

I say MD 27-24

Jesus, I suck. Sorry boys. This one really hurt. I had MST +10.5 to finish off a 7 team parlay that paid almost 5k. Will be drinking over that one for the rest of tonight and into tomorrow. I think I will just sit back for the next few week and watch the season win total come in since I am really not helping anyone.

Sorry on this one. I really thought they would come out and show they were ready to be a better team. Very disappointed in how they approached this game after all the talk. They just went through the motions and held back which I hate. I do not like coaches who approach games like this. Locksley better hope he can get them to play better or it is going to be a long season. I know it is only the first game but you have a fan base that is waiting to get excited and this is not how to ignite them. Locksley is a frustrating coach. Probably will see more of the same next week against a bad Charlotte team.

No worries , we all make a bad call. Good news the Terps won...:0074

I played the Ov 58.5 for this game. I think it is a battle of the QBs and there should be points. Line has been driven down some by recent performances, but this one could be a shootout.

My pleasure. More or less worked out like I thought. Wanted it to be over by now, because they may not win another game! Been a tough year so far for me so this definitely helps.

This weeks Maryland game is a very interesting one. I have watched every game for both teams and I believe MD is the better overall team, so taking the +5 appears to be the play. However, I am going with:

Ov 49

This line has come down and I jumped at 49. Both teams are off a bye and I think that favors the offenses. Wisconsin is not the same Wisconsin team. They gave up 24 to Purdue and 34 to Michigan State in their last 2 games. Maryland has proven they can score against anyone, as they put 27 up against Michigan on the road, so I expect them to get their points. I see a 30-27 type game here either way, so the over is the play for me.
